^I agree. There's no love of individuality and freedom of expression in general.
[QUOTE=VocalNeal;2533169]Everyone loves a bit of work related bling. Makes them feel important. Not only Thais, take those US oil filed types with company logos (campaign medals) on their aluminum hard hats. Must think there all Red Adair, even the camp manager?[/QUOTE
Well put. Having actually been one who has work for 'Red Adair & Boots" during the 'Ekofisk" blow out in the eighties some of these 'genuine' logos have credence within the oilfield community but to the general public are meaningless.

And every uniform on an adult comes with a set of Thai parachute wings. They must have a fleet of aircraft in the thousands to jump all those folks. I once asked a bank guard, wearing Thai jump wings, how many jumps he had completed. Once he understood what I was talking about, he pointed to the wings and said that they had come with the uniform. He didn't even know what they were (police master parachutist wings).
As an ex UK service real "paratrooper" I had often wondered about these 'wings' on many (including police) uniforms, maybe their uniforms are made by the american cloths company "REDWING" and they are slipping their logo in for a bit of free advertising but I still wonder what all the 'campaign' ribbons stand for on their left breasts. Do not no of any Thai military involvement with conflicts outside their own country if there were and military personnel were award service medals for services to their country all these other ribbons rather make a mockery of them.
^Former para here as well. Some of the cops have actually done ONE balloon jump (sort of like a carnival ride). The ribbons also come with the uniform.
Anyway, back on theme of Thai unforms. probably the best known:
some of the retired police that i know started their carears in the border police in the far south, being hushed out of planes to shoot malysian communitsts... then walking home.
these chaps generally had a rather macho prashooting medel that was conspiciously larger than all the other scrapnel on their chests and from wat i could make quite experianced parashootists.
as for the navy military police chap, that was most definatly a parashooting medal and not a garunda.. its too shot and wide for starters. as for what the things mean... not a lot the shops that make them will sell anything to anyone, their located on a road running along the west side of the old siam and the bma building
just think of americ, give some a shit job and good job title and their happy.... here its a uniform and their happy
and here's a socal chick
