True Visions subsribers and football/rugby next month

Does anyone have any idea about what is the best option for watching football and rugby union/league at home from next month on? As I am led to believe, True lost the contract for EPL for 2013-14, and there were reports about a company (CTH?) covering the football, but I have not been successful in contacting them. This issue was raised some weeks ago in the Sports Room and I was advised to try Astor for viewing football and rugby, but again, I was unable to make any progress with this.

I want to watch EPL and what is shown on Setanta on True (channel 117). Any suggestions before I pay my next bill to True?

I just paid my subscription for the next 3 months. I hope you're wrong and I continue to receive Setanta Asia.

Try Astro. 300 Baht / month, and they show most of the EPL games and a lot of the international rugby (and boxing, tennis, MMA, etc). Most local cable tv operators can hook you up.

We have no choice in providers. 'True' is the only one available.

True have definitely lost the EPL for the next 3 seasons. Your local cable operator will be a member of a federation of suppliers that's led by CTH (the company who recently won the English Premier League rights). Unfortunately their website is also only in Thai, though they are definitely offering the option of Cable or Satellite: Package | CTH WE SHARE

The different prices that they are quoting relate to the length of contract you're prepared to sign, with the 599 deal being for 3 years (or so my wife tells me). We contacted Phuket Cable a few days ago, but were told that they would commence installations beginning in August. I won't be cancelling True just yet, not until the new service proves itself, and particularly as True have just picked up MUTV (Man United), which is going to show all of their current tour games live (starting with the match in BKK tonight).

    ^^Are you sure about that?

I rang them the other day. Looks like there is a waiting list at the moment...Not surprised!

If your net is quick enough you can stream the rugby from the Setanta site for a reasonable fee...
