Tourist Visa extension ?

Greetings all. Does anyone know what the crack is with extending a tourist visa ? I have a friend here who has a 60 day tourist visa which he was going to extend on the 6th when it runs out. he is on Koh Tao doing some diving and was planning to return to Samui Monday to extend it. I have just noticed that Monday the 6th is a holiday. If he goes on the 7th will that be OK ? Will they just give him 30 days from the 6th or will he get 1 day overstay ?

He will probably have to pay overstay.

From Koh Tao, it might be a better alternative to go to Chumpon - they have a temporary immigration set up once a month at the Tesco Lotus. I'm pretty sure it's the first Tuesday of every month - i'll check and post on this thread when i know for sure.

^ The temporary immigration office is every alternate Tuesday - which is no help because i can't find out any dates.
