Skype has stopped working --advice appreciated

After a year of no problem suddenly I cannot speak or hear anything on Skype ,I have tested the microphone /speakers as they tell you and all say normal --has anyone had a similar problem or can offer advice

I had this problem a week or so ago even though it showed me as being on-line. I just take myself off-line and then put myself back on-line and bingo. It works for me. http://community.skype.com/t5/Genera...le/td-p/447717

You may want to go back to an earlier version. I dont use Norton and use Skype 5 dyas a week Only roblems I have are bandwidth which slow video sometimes ,I'm on TOT

If all else fails why not take the 'puter to a local shop and let them have a look at it.

From all accounts on 'Skype forum' many people are having a problem. Some, like me, just log out and then log in. It works for some. From my readings it doesn't seem to be one specific method that corrects the fault for all. I see it being a fault at Skypes end.

You can get fast speeds on them in Bangkok, the problem is though they are not unlimited and for 600 baht you would only get a 2GB data allowance, which is sometimes not even 2 movies. Once you go over your limit they stick you on the slow shit, Edge or whatever its a called.
