Don't think I know Dave...but RIP...
^^
Always sad to hear of deaths on the forum.
R.I.P to the man.
I done a quick search on the member "woollyback" and got no hits back.
Yes , just did a search myself and cannot find it either , closest match being woollyman , could have been that , but I would'nt swear to it for fear of upsetting anyone.
I met him through another forum and while chatting on Skype , he metioned that he was also a member here , and that his username was woolly... I thought it was back , but could have been man.
He was married to Nee , whom he met in the UK . I think they were married for 19 or 20 years , the last few of which was in Sattahip.
I know that he spent most sundays at some or other pub/bar on the beach in Bang Saray where he met up with a few other falangs , mostly scandinavians if I recall.
To the OP..
Dave wasn't from Nottingham and a real, certified teacher was he?
I know a Dave and Nee from my home city and I lost touch with him about 5 years ago. The last time I heard he was in the Pattaya/Sattahip area.
I decent guy who told me about Thailand when I was just a boy.
If so, could you please PM.
^ Think his full name is David Gregory and he did come from UK

If he used the nick Woollyback then he could well come from LiverpoolOriginally Posted by deathstardan
RIP Dave.
I asked him the same thing.
He had no ties left in the UK.
He was a bit of a loner , and his only sister died a few years ago , so he had nowhere or no-one to go to , so just stuck it out here.
He had some chemo last year and also had a stent fitted this year to help him swallow his food , and for a while it looked like he was getting a bit better , but in the last few months he went downhill rapidly.
ps , he was never a teacher , and before retiring was a transport manager in the UK.
So.....
1. Someone is dead.
2. Who may or may not have been a member.
3. And who nobody except the OP knows anything about.
4. And who the OP is someone who hardly posts here either.
*shrug*

You need a good hard right hook on the side of your jaw for that post
^^ Why? Am I supposed to give a fuck about someone I've never met, who never posted here? There's a community here. He wasn't part of it. Neither, by the way are you.... yet.
Sorry mate, but why ?
Why should a bunch of strangers care if a fellow passed on or not ?
Millions dying around the world.
