Lived in the boonies and the city but found a happy medium in the burbs. One foot in the rice paddy and one in a shopping mall.
I love both city and mountain too. In the city, much warmer, but I'll get air-con. With a family, extended sometimes like a big rubberband, with 8 kids sometimes running wild, I can always jump on my Sportster and go for a ride downtown.
And when I'm up country, soon, I'll go to my japanese house and leave the kids on holidays at the big house. It's always cooler at night, no air-con. All this, soon...
For now, both places are under construction, so I need a bit more patience...
But I consider myself very lucky to have projects I can get to realize, and I hope to be able to keep doing this for a long time.
And having kids around keeps you young.
When you say it has the money, what do you recommend are good businesses in BKK?
I recently learnt that all farangs need to employ 4 Thai staff to qualify for a work permit so I am trying to think of a good business.
You don't really have to employ them, you just have to pay the social security payments for them.Originally Posted by nat
