From Pakse to Dondet .. slow slow like laos style

Here's my trip to Pakse, south of Laos

I took the sleeping train from Bangkok to Ubon.. 11 hours!

Then we caught a tuk tuk to the bus station 120 baht

The international bus ubon-pakse runs 2 times daily 9 am and 3 pm
so we got the 9 am one 200 baht each!

the bus took about 3 hrs to the new bus station in Pakse "Kriangxai".. well 2 hours on the bus and another hour to get through the immigration.

The visa cost 30$ but they prefer 1200 baht instead! hahaha

We decided to stay one night in pakse..

here's the Sam Loh in pakse

NIce! I remember when I lived in LOS how nice it was to get out of BKK for a break away from the madness.

I used to come back feeling relaxed

I stayed at Souksan guesthouse, right next to the pier, which is one of the most expensive gh in Dondet!! 60000-80000 kip-about 250-350 baht!!! so expensive huh???
The price of gh in dondet start from 30000 kip, very simple one with bed bugs!!, sharing bathroom.
The electricity is on from 6pm-10pm, that means there'll be no bars or restaurants after 10!

    EAT!!

what to eat here?? Apart from Laos food, you can have sandwiches, burgers, pasta, pizza (?), Thai food and indian food with the strange tastes!! Most of the restaurants have the same menu (dont know if they just copied for each other).

As the topic said.. slow slow like laos style, this was from eating, YOU SHOULD GO AT LEAST 1 HOUR BEFORE YOU'RE HUNGRY!! I tell ya! If you turn up when you're lil bit hungry, you'll be starved. They are sooo slow at cooking.
on my first dinner, there was an american lad sitting next to me, ordered the burgers, an hour passed his burgers came and he found it was raw! oh my...He was trying to ask them to make it cook but the staff didnt understand so he left.. and guess what?? we found something that looked like meat in the burgers, in my friend's pasta!!!!!!!!!!!!!! heheh
The strange thing here was you can't get the fish menu even it's in the menu. If you wish to eat fish you have to order 3 hours before so they can go get fish for you. While wherever you go you'll see the people fishing!
