    ^ Looks lovely.

Do you do any mountain biking when up around Laos, Fishy?

    Looks perfect for it.

I don't have a mountain bike yet. If I were to stay longer I would definitely get one. Last time around I bought a bike for my niece. I rode it quite a bit just to stay in shape.

If you like trail riding you'd love this place. In fact the farm is only accessible by what I would call trails.

Met an English man in Pakse. We saw him again at a waterfall, Tad Lo, Quite a ways from Pakse. He was staying at a bungalow there. Sil helped him with his bike bags as they crossed the narrow bridge at the falls. I may have a pic. I'll see.

Near Salavan. 100+km from Pakse. The pics must be on the gopro. As I recall it was a foldable rig he flew in with. All kinds of folks on bikes. A nice shop in the main mall selling all types of bicycles.

Here is a pic of the place on the cell phone.
The narrow bridge they crossed to get to the huts.

I'd get a surgical mask though as some roads are quite dusty. The main roads with large trucks and busses can kick up the dust. That and locals burning their trash are my only real complaints about the place. Look into the Bolaven Plateu loop out of Pakse. Lots of tourists backpacking to many cool places. Many waterfalls.

Yes, clean and swimable. In fact a tour bus arrived and a bunch of folks went to a flat spot on the rocks and began washing their faces in the river so yea no PCBs i'd guess.

Don Kho, away from it all. A very rustic place where folks can do homestays while relaxing on the beach. We watched a group net fishing for small fish.
I met a lao guy from france. Id assume about 40ish. Said he sold his business there and bought a piece on the east shore of the island. Had a small home there. Quite nice. He showed me the plans for his next house. Nothing huge but livable. Said he rents a space for his car in Don Kho proper and takes his boat over.

He said he's living his dream now as he was tired of his life in France. Says every night he looks at the stars and breaths. The wind is primarily westerly so he has that going for him.

Life, the beach before you die. I get where he was comming from. I said I'd check back in a year or two to see his new crib. He gave me a shot of local hooch and let me fly the drone around his place.

This pic is of the beach on the western side of the isle.

I love that Darkside tune breath.

I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like most of us have.

That's why I had them build this place. Because I wouldn't come here in the first place if I didn't have a place to crash. Two beds downstairs and now one almost finished one upstairs. All vacant unless we are here as granny stays at bils place in town now. Gfs other brother and his girls take care of the place. Not a bad deal for us, us, us, and them, them, them.

That's the wood for the floor and the trim. 4,000,000 kip worth or about 460usd.
My sparkie is comming tomorrow to do lighting and finish on the new breaker box.
I can't complain. He wired this whole place years ago for 200 usd. I still recall him asking if that was too much.

The other year I went to his house. Portions still had dirt floors. So I gave him 300usd for Christmas to finish the job. Sometimes it's nice to know I'm not just any old seppo. I am....
    the fish.

No mosquitoes here now but I see the need for the netting. It's called a dockadan. The kid says it doesn't bite as it's a vegan.

In Star Treck tradition I think I'll call it number one.

Yes, sometimes it gets pretty boring around here.

Interesting story is that the guy that builds the temples and this room for us ect. Has been disssed by his bro because he chose to be a carpenter around the Village and do good works for the surroundings.

I'm still in outer space about some of the concepts around here. That's an understatement.

Cool pictures and commentary. I'm looking forward to getting back to the village myself we're flying out Sunday.

The new bridge was completed the other day. A new road/ path is being routed along the southern most piece of the farm.

I struck a deal with the Niebor wherein it's on the south of his piece as well. I had to flip for removal of two large bamboo trees 500,000 each for labor and gave the old man 1,000,000 kip. He keeps the bamboo.

He said he's doing it for the benefit of others here, obviously not for the money.

Took another tour around a few islands today. We decided to see what they were catching.
