Wat Phou Champasack.
Wat Phou Champasack.
Before some fools defaced it.
Crap pic but a nice spot for a late lunch.
I saw some guys in a small boat fishing just above this little ditty.
As close as I wanted to come.
Well I did jump in here. The doctor said it would be good luck for me to do so. I didn't step on a stingray so ya, good luck I had.
Meanwhile back at the ranch all was calm.
I may try to add to this as time goes on. All old pics archived from the last tour.Poor quality I know but who do you think I am some kind of Bobcock. No, just the fish.
Yes I did. Said it was good luck.
Can't touch this. It's above the door....Amazing work.
At the bus stop.
Getting there is half the battle.
Which one makes more noise these days? You guessed it.
The guys fishing above the falls. They tried to sell us some fish. We had no way to keep it until we made it home. A few hours drive back to camp.
The creek at the back of the farm that eventually flows into the Mekong.
Not the best pics I know. I'll give and "A" for effort and an "F" for fish.
Nice pics,Thanks for sharing
I know they ain't great shots. Taken with a Sony handy cam on pic mode. When I get some time I'll try to find some decent pics. These were already resized in a Jpeg.
It took some of the pain out of it but the pics suffer for it. Most phones have better cameras these days. I'm not that good at this stuff. I'm a pretty good shot otherwise. And I can fish too.
I played a mean guitar. Don't always eat at the steak bar. Never drove in a Jaguar.
Looks an interesting place. Where are those falls?
Had a chuckle at that. I think bobcock & phuketrichard are great photographers - they're pros. Most of us just trudge along, taking pics in the process. Thanks for the pics, fish!
Just a thought... if you're not a bobcock & you're a guy & you take pics... if I'm a girl & I take pics, so I'm not a... what's the proper term? Bobhen? Or bobp....? Lol! I think I would prefer bobhen!
On the Lao Cambodian border at the 4,000 islands;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khone_Phapheng_Falls
The place has an interesting history with the French exploration and commerce up the Mekong, they couldnt get their boats past the falls so built a railway up two of the islands. The rail bed, a bridge between the islands and an old locomotive are still there.
Combine a trip there with a motorbike ride round the Bolaven Plateau and a trip across the river to Wat Phou and you have a great holiday.
Bolaven Plateau Laos
That's sweet Katie, and as for the bird, I love it. Could not have said it better. I swim in small circles so don't get the wave of things past or in the hear and now.
Above the doorway at Vat Phu.
There is a museum near the grounds. 1 dollar for locals 3 for me. I'm three times bigger. I seppo I suck more air. Who would have guessed.
It's said to be the oldest archaeological sight in Laos.
I'm mixing up two places. Good thing I hired a guide to show me where the falls were.
I may have missed them otherwise.
A nice pavilion to view a piece of it safely.
If you venture below the falls you may see fresh water dolphins.

Good thing I hired a guide to show me the falls. Well worth the price.
I tried to get him to swap gear but he would have nothing to do with mine.
