Boating in the Se Pan Don area at sunset. Notice the lights on the passing boat, not. No life jackets BTW.

Street food, Vientiane
This place did a mean sandwich, Au Bon Pain eat your fucking heart out
She got slight food poisoning at this new mall...the farts were like poison gas that night
Mekong at sunset
Can allways find a nice bakery in Laos. I was living on local french bread tuna and mayonnaise sandwiches. I did find some nice jellies and jams at the local Frienship market as well as all sorts of nuts that are great for travelers. Lots of fresh fruit as well that's perfect in a fanny pack like oranges ect.
See post 510 for a good selection of street food on the board walk VTE. Page 21.

Si Pan Don area on the Mekong. I believe the French used this monument as a tell tail to river depth for their steam ships.
Looking over the edge above Tad Fane Laos highest waterfall. Even a blind squirrel can see the fish's nuts.
This was from the China temple on the confluence of the Don and Mekong in Pakse Laos. Just as the net hit the water.
The hotel grounds at the Friendship bridge. A nice spot in the down town area. 60usd for river view rooms.
The hotel pool.
One of the many waterfalls on the Bolaven loop.
One of the coffee plantations on the Bolaven Plateau. We bought some whole peppercorns from them as they grew it as well as coffee.
A nice place for a break. We strolled around the grounds and sampled tea and coffee.
Where they did some roasting.
The kids getting a lesson.
35,000 kip a bag right from the co-op. We had to pick up a few as it is quite good. Sorry for the poor quality pics. I'm choosing from thumbnails. I didn't realize they were out of focus. But it gives you an idea of what you may see if heading there. We picked up coffee, tea and peppercorns. Not a bad deal I would say and it helps the local small growers vs the big companies.
Net fishing on the big river. I'm gonna need a bigger boat.
I mentioned the wood working at the guys house down the road early in the thread. I'm getting these guys to finish the fishes crib...someday.
Meanwhile back in Vientiane at the great pumpkin..
Inside the outer wall of the great Pumpkin. It's said to represent a form Heaven, hell and earth on the different levels.
A peek inside.
Not the best pics. They do not do the place Justice. Some pretty demented stuff in there.
