    Dungeons and Dragons

My sister-in-law, Sally called to-day and told me about her friends son Simon.

Simon is a nice kid despite being inflicted with Downs Syndrome. He's 23 now and not really hard work, lets say he has a mental ability of about 10-12yrs.
He spends most of his late afternoons on his computer playing games, he likes Dungeons and Dragons, Wizards and Lord of the Rings.

He has never been left alone before and after much discussion his mother decides to visit a friend for tea, leaving Simon for 2-3hrs on his own. He will make himself a sandwich and a cold drink. He is happy and quite proud to be trusted.

On return at 6 his mother finds alls well, Simon is still on the computer and he has had his tea. 'Everyting ok she asks?' Simon, beaming says yes, oh there is a Troll in the cupboard under the stairs. Ok, says mum, and starts making dinner in the kitchen.
Some twenty minutes later she goes to the hall to pick up her shopping and hears something in the cupboard...............she opens the door to find a 50yr old hot and furious dwarf, 'I called to collect the Age Concern donation bag i left on Tuesday he shouted!' Simon ran into the hall to tell his mother 'you see, i captured him while you were out!....................

Something very Chinese about that joke, in the sense that it's kind of a joke but not in the least funny

Well Dug, i am sorry it failed to amuse you. Its not a joke but a tale as recounted to me by my sister-in-law.
I can assure you that if you spend any time with people with DS or any other genuine mental illness, you need a sense of humour. Its funny incidents like these that keep you going.
