    I don't know if I trust some of those numbeo numbers. Some of them seem pretty....off.

    Any comparisons will differ [great/less] one from the next. So any made-up statistical standard is null and void and has nothing to do with anything.

    Well I mean, I hear what you are saying but the average price of beer in a supermarket is totally objective IF its accurate.

    Its not that I'm against their system, it just seems like their numbers aren't accurate. Perhaps relying on user "on the ground" price reports (which I believe Numbeo does) just isn't reliable. Or maybe too few people report to make the numbers representative.

    For a good first approximation use the Hamburger index. Assuming Jakarta has McDonalds. The price of a Big Mac gives a pretty good comparison in cost of living for different locations.

    It is not a joke. Google Hamburger Index or Big Mac Index.
