well apart from all the locked up aussie drug dealers bali can be a nice place to visit for a holiday.
plenty to offer a diverse range of travellers. this trip i didnt want to stay on Kuta - since its a bit busy and all and i had my son with me.
I booked the Bali Hai - 4 star rooms on the beach for about $30-$40 bucks a night. for some reason they mucked up my booking and I ended up being put into their $100? villa instead. ( google them - they have a website ) it was in a place called Seminyak - which is slightly quieter (and more expensive than Kuta, about 20 mins up the road/beach or so)
There is also some good nightclubs in this area as well - Double 6 - is open late and tends to play thump thump musik!
it had a private swimming pool, outside spa, 2 bungalows for up to 4 ppl, and a private garden, very nice....
here is our swimming pool, thats me enjoying a swim
and practising our 'bombs'
you can always use the main pool instead if you prefer, it has a bar (of course)
view of our room - sorry forget to make the bed... it had a tv vdo ipod etc
playtime...
view on the beach, this was through the private door that the villa had onto the beach - the day before some couple got married here (western couple i think)
nice beachy place to have seafood - its called Jimbaran, quite famous place to have seafood, its about 10 mins from Kuta beach in a taxi
but beware, many taxi's will get a 'tip' for dropping you off at their recommended place. (notice the airplane taking off in the background)
some random locals watching their father fishing...
