I guess you were there at 1066. If not, you should have attended your history lessons. Romans (not Italians, Italy comes way later) built thousand year ago fortresses and roads to support military but that is not a colony, no more than France was English colony despite similarly partly occupied by the English.

East Bengal/Bangladesh was part of India before partition in 1947. The good folk of Bengal thought just as highly of their British masters as those living in India did.

Maybe you were there in 1066. William whips Harold, takes control but it's not a French colony. You prefer the term Norman colony? Nor an Italian one for that matter Um, OK.

And the Scandinavians never colonized parts of England either.

By your definition - only building forts and roads to support its military- the US was never a British colony either

    Ah revisionism

    All good to know

No. Firstly they were not Scandinavians, they were approximately what you would today call Danish. They invaded in quite relatively small numbers. Some settled and in the end their families became English. Read about King Alfred.

Northern America was many British colonies because of the people.

British Empire. Why do you think we speak English and this forum exists? Who gave you freedom, wealth and technology to do that.

^ Ok Boss E, you be da Massa and knows all dem facts of de past. But dem British ship done took me from old Afri ca brung Lancelot to dis land of milk and honey and gib me all dis money an all dis good life, in dis here praise Jaesus!

Exit, your way too sensitive, my earlier posts were directed against Pseudo, Al, Neemo and the like that get so worked up with anti American sentiment, that their collective panties bind, cutting off the blood supply to various regions, resulting in high pitched squeaking and agitated limp wrist gestures. I was never referring to you specifically, but you bit, so I caught you, threw you back in the pond- and you kept biting, 555.

Actually I have found many of your posts to be reasonable and objective. I was pulling your chain about being an Italian colony. You were a Roman colony and history clearly recorded this truth.

But you do make my point that sometimes Brits can dish it out but really don't like to be on the receiving end. Nuff said.

    pseudolus,

LOL I liked that but you do have dirty imagination. There is nothing wrong with man love but I have lovely wife. You need to find some nice bloke for you.

Missed Casablanca reference. Now I think most of my movie and popular culture and science references are missed here. Clearly this is not Cambridge or Harvard debating society. Or should I make my references more clear. Like Here is An Apple. Is it an Apple? Can planes fly at night without light? Why is moon less visible during daylight?

You are too hard on British. British are strongest ally of US and have most powerful military after US.
Yes there is anti-American sentiment in the UK but most people like US, many have family and connections.

It is the continental europeans you should your worry about. They really hate US (except New Europe and Northern Europe). Really, I have seen it. Next time euros make a mess (they have a habit) there is a shield near Dover and the free world will be defended. Target acquisition report green.

If it is wrong for this cafe to have nazi memorabilia, is it wrong for the IDF to copy a nazi party advert for support?
