Yet another pic posting tutorial, this time in video.

Theres already a few threads about how to post pictures but I had an hour spare so I did these videos.

The first one is how to upload a picture after you have set the gallery up with an album.

    Viddler.com - Teakdoor Gallery1 - Uploaded by melvbot

The second one is how to create a new folder and move pictures between the folders if you need a bit more organisation in your gallery

Viddler.com - Creating a folder and moving pictures - Uploaded by melvbot

The third one is how to delete individual files and whole folders.

Viddler.com - Deleting pictures and whole albums - Uploaded by melvbot

These videos are best viewed in fullscreen, if you look on the player controls for the four arrows icon and click it you'll get a decent sized and decent resolution video so you can see which buttons are used and where.

If the mods want to move/merge/delete this then go for it.

Hopefully this will be easy to follow for anyone struggling to upload pics.

    Well, a little side track.

I tried to upload some pics yesterday from my bike ride. How do I get those pics in my post instead of only the links (uploaded to the photobucket)?

    Regards

If youve hosted them on another site like Photobucket you'll need the location/URL of the image.

When you have that and youre ready to post a reply look for the icon that looks like 2 mountains and a sun in the formatting tools above the area where you type in text, thats the insert image button, click it and then paste the image URL into the box. That should be it.

Im a bit crap at explaining things in text which is why I did the videos.

    Very good Melvbot.

Uploading from the gallery to a post I do differant, especially if I have multiple pics to post on the same post.

Open up a new window on the gallery. Click on thumbnail to view and then click again to enlarge to proper size. Then right click and copy, go to the post that you are creating in the other window and paste.

Good point there Props. I use a clipboard manager that lets me copy and paste anywhere up to 20 items, removing the "thumb_" is just how I've always done it.

    Hi Props, and MelBot.

Back to watch the organising video for the third time. But it works.

I would advise anybody watching to look at the above videos.

why does it have to be so complicated, surely a browse/upload from ones own computer would be far simpler for all forum members and result in more photos in posts.

i have tried many times to upload photos, but its just too complicated and time consuming and often results in failure.
