The technical term for that is "packet sniffing"
I always giggle when I say packet sniffing which is why I post about it as often as possible.

I've noticed that their blocking isn't consistent, but it does seem to be getting a lot more pervasive in just the last couple of weeks.

I am just a dumb ass country boy, but I use True and only one site has been blocked.
