Have now followed tutorial from Dirtydog, and now KM's.

    Testing upload pic:
    https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...ocation_1c.jpg

Edit: Obviously a easier tutorial is needed - still.
I use windows 7-32bit and IE 8. Whenever I click on pic in my own gallery here on TD, even full size, I do not see "copy image location, only "copy shortcut".
If its so difficult to post pics from one owns gallery here, I rather dont attach pics.
Multiple members have posted about this problem since 2006.

Can some please please post a very short how to attach pic in post i.e:
    click .....
    click .....

Just wasted 1 hour on this now!

Edit: just see below my own post:

"you may NOT post attachments" -- Is that why I as a newbie can not see my pics, only a url ?

How many post needed then ???

No, nothing to do with it. I get that as well. DD says 10 posts required before adding photos.

I just right clicked on your link above, selected copy link, clicked on the Insert Image icon above the reply box, and pasted into the popup box that appeared, making sure to replace the http:// that is already there. The picture should appear in the reply box straight away.

I think you have missed the bit here: https://teakdoor.com/436619-post22.html where it describes how to get around the problem. Maybe the Mods should strip all the useful bits out into 1 new post and make it sticky

THAT WAS IT Remove the http in the pop up window (Explorer User Prompt),paste from the photo you want to attach - and its working.

Before I did not know you had to remove the "http://" when the "Explorer User prompt" window popped up - as the "http://" is already in the pop up window.

    A million thank you BigRed.

Admin - you might change ur program so the "Http" don't come automatically in the pop up window.

Why? Just highlight the http:// and paste the entire url over the top of it.

The problem Xray is that you did not read the instructions as this was clearly stated in the process...

No Klongmaster - a Big No.
I did read the tutorial many times first, as I have mentioned before.

See how many members who reported problem posting pic's since 2006 until today -
    still the problem continue.
Other forums is so easy to use, why not just a "attach" button and "browse" like all other forums?

You think it works great, in contrast to all the problem reported from the members... It's to difficult to use for so many - why not improve it?

I guess this is a hot potato, so I leave this topic.

I suppose reading and comprehending are two different things.

I get this all the time with customers. It doesn't matter how simple you try to make the instructions, they'll still not follow them properly, then I get shit because they're too stupid to set up their email properly.

We know it's difficult to use which is why I went to the trouble of making this pictorial...

If you don't read it properly you can hardly expect sympathy when you come on here bleating...

Mate, don't you think that the very fact that you have to go to so much trouble with yet another tutorial should tell TD something?
It's just too complicated a system and denies many would be contributors the opportunity to share their pics?
I have tried on numerous occasions and given up in disgust , once I thought I had found my way through the maze and downloaded 10 pics , but no , it turns out the total size of the 10 exceeded the maximum acceptable ( no sign of that advice that I could see . no doubt someone will point out that if I look under the little house , click 4 times and ask for Bob all will be revealed.)
I suggest TD administration try a download on carsales.com and see how easy it could or should be done?
I, and I am sure many others would love to share their pictorial experiences on TD but like me were totally frustrated and now can't be bothered.
Spacecraft would have simpler instruction manuals.

You openly admit it's difficult to use yet you persevere? that's a bit like swimming upstream against the current with a pocket full of rocks when all you had to do was buy a ticket on the ferry?

Never had any problem posting pics on this forum. Just had to figure how it works first and then it's easy.

You should question yourself about your ability to use internet stuff.

well I'm not a mod here or anything...just a punter trying to make something which appears difficult a little easier...
I persevered and now find it no problem...up to you if you don't want to take the time...although i agree and have said many times that a simpler system would be better...

Basically, if you can't post pictures after following these instructions, you're a thicko who shouldn't be allowed near a computer.

I mean, Klongy wrote the tutorial, and he's old and a sheep fancier/worrier to boot!

I agree if you have done nothing else in your life but sit glued and plugged into a computer since birth - some of us have done much more with our lives and can discuss on a variety of subjects without claiming to be an authority on everything.
Have you considered that maybe TD could have much broader appeal to others if technophobics with their heads buried deep in an essential orifice made an effort to assist and simplify the site operation instead of offering only supercilious contempt?
Apparently these technitwits lack the empathy and expertise necessary to offer anything constructive lest it broaden the interest of the site to those born before 1970 thereby seriously restricting the opportunity to become an even bigger fish in an even smaller pond?
Perhaps you would prefer to have anyone older than 35 euthanised?

Thanks for the effort , I will give it a try - fimly believe the process needs to be simplified though. I apologise if my other comments appeared to be directed at you personally - I was trying to get the message through to TD administration and mistakenly thought that was you.

I've been trying to do a bit of experimenting this evening (or morning now), and at least I've managed to upload some images into my (new) gallery album. Problem comes when I try to post the link to a reply, as it only appears as a link, not as a photo (and yes, I delete the http:// prior to pasting the photo link.

Oh (and be quiet about this, as Butterfly could possibly be viewing!!!), I'm a Mactard.
