KL thanks for the tutorial - ummm this is going to sound a bit odd but when I said to a couple of TV friends I was coming over here after my "troubles" there I was told that Teak was full of loud mouthed idiots - I just figured I would fit right in then, but I have actually found most of the people here very friendly and knowledgeable.
Thanks
Thanks for the detailed advice but I can't be bothered.....why does it have to be SO bluddy complicated?
silly misinformation bandied around by big wigs of other sites for fear of them coming here and seeing how a proper forum should be run.Originally Posted by bar dog
All,
I've developed a few of my own albums and have uploaded some pics no problem. What I'm wondering is, is there a way to load multiple pictures to the actual post at one time or must I load the pics to the post singularly. I'm finding that I have to go to the gallery to copy the url of all the pictures I want to post to the post and then go to the post and upload singularly. I know it is probably operator error but I don't know the fix. Also, is there an easy way to toggle between the gallery and the post/thread being written so that what has already be included in the new but not yet posted thread is not lost. what is happening for me is that when I start a post to a thread and then go to the gallery and then back to the post on the thread, what I already typed in has been lost. Hummm. Again, I think operator error but what is the fix?
No. Not that I know of. I do exactly what you have described...slow ain't it...Originally Posted by SEA Traveler
Yes...if you're using Firefox - or even the latest version of IE - you can open tabs...usually I open them side-by-side one for the thread page and t'other for the galley then it's easy to toggle between them...Originally Posted by SEA Traveler
Just read through this and I might actually be able to manage it. *gasp!*
Going on an overnight trip on the Jazz Train (HH to Ban Krut) next week, so will take some pics & see if I can actually manage to post them. My God, a pic thread from NR - the mind boggles, don't it?
Cheers, KM for making it seem understandable.
We'll look forward to viewing the pics NR...
It aint that hard once you get used to it . There is a hack for vBulletin that enables direct uploads of pics into the post from your hard drive, but it lays them out on the page as thumbnails. The gallery is good in that the pics load heaps faster than hosting them on sites like photobucket etc.Originally Posted by Luckydog

The Colonel uses Pbase.com, pays peanuts for it and Kan post linkies on all other forums from there, once your post counts are up on some of them as you require to post more than 30 or so posts before they let you post URL.
Pbase.com the way forwards. Very user friendly. Have a look see.

Trouble with offsite linking is that it generally makes page loading slower.

on this test photobucket would be a better choice than pbase

I've often found Photobucket to be really slow.
TD hosting is the quickest, even thought the gallery was designed by Amazonian Indians.
Well I will give it a try but I may have to save this thread, cut oy a lot of the repeated stuff and then save it and print it out ofr reference.
I know it will take some time as I am old and slow plus I use AIS EDGE as my internet communcator.
I have just read at the bottom of the page that I can post replies, open a thread, edit my posts but not post attatchments.
Everything will come along in a while.
