The function's used by wimps and weirdos in futile attempts to avoid criticism, and to blackmail others into conforming to their fwkd up world view, their fragile little egos.

The ignore function doesn't work as they anticipate though, it only exposes them to more criticism as precious princess snowflakes, and the reds they get must really piss them off,....so .....

I'll go out on a limb to suggest that those who engage in ignore functions are largely enabling blocking functions towards certain individuals from redding said member..

I believe that you sent me a "red" at some time but you do not appear on my block list. You know just as well as I do who the disruptive people are. You are free to use a block list if you wish but it doesn't worry me if you don't. I will continue to use one to rid me of trolls and their ilk.

I don't send reds to anybody in normal use of the forum. I think it could be the main reason for childish behaviour and it would be good if the reputation system was abandoned.

I have sent reds to individuals but only as a notice of being blocked by me. So, anybody who has had a red from me is on my list.

Some people have been put in the Doghouse as a result of making abusive comments when sending reds. Had I known earlier that action would be taken by the mods I would have reported abuse made by a well known poster on here. He tried to give the impression on the forum that he was engaging in banter with me but when redding me his comments were extreme.

Fortunately this piece of shit flounced a while back but I keep him on my list to remind me of how people should not behave. There are no prizes for guessing who he was as you will all have identified him by now.

I am sorry if I misunderstood you. I do not respond to any posts made by those on my block list. There is an opportunity to take a quick look at what a poster has said but I do not avail myself of this facility. Once I have decided I don't want to read a particular person's posts that is the end of the matter. It will dawn on them gradually that I do not respond to anything they have written and that they must, therefore, be on my list.

If others did the same as me the overall standard of behaviour would improve. In particular, people like Nigel would not be driven away from here.
