    Posting pictures

I've just had Windows 8 installed on my computer. Before, when posting a picture, with Windows 7, I just pressed 'copy image' and pasted it on the thread.
Now with Win 8 I don't get 'copy image' but just 'copy'. When I 'paste' no picture actually shows. Just the link as below.
    Am I doing something wrong?

Why would you choose to have Windows 8? If you already had Windows 7 then you should have either stayed put or, if you wanted to upgrade, gone to Windows 10.

My computer crashed last week. It contained a genuine Windows 7. When I got my computer back it came back with 2 USB ports not working and it wouldn't update Windows. It kept getting an error code. The repairer took it away again and loaded Windows 8 on it.

When I right click on a picture neither of those two options appear. I just get 'copy' and 'copy shortcut'.

Can you reload your genuine Windows 7 back onto your computer? (I assume you still have the CD).

After you press just "copy", paste that into the yellow and black postcard in the reply box. That will wrap the img thingymebobs around it

Can I just say that things seem different on TD's now. Dunno if it caused bit Windows 8 or not. When using the 'Message Box' to write I don't see the 'Smilies' option as 'Smilies' but as a dropdown and written instead of a picture.

Are you using the same browser? Sounds like you were using firefox before, and now something different like explorer or chrome

    Could that be it?

When I clicked on the postcard I got a box in the top left asking for the URL and I pasted it in that for the image to show.

When my Win 7 crashed I was using Firefox. Now I'm just using Google or Bing.

    well there you go

    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/desktop/

download firefox as that function is part of firefox and not found on Chrome and bing.

By the way, your windows 8 will be a fake copy which will be why it will not update. For future reference, tell somchai the laptop man if he is not allowed to install any program at all onto your computer, or he will buy you a new computer. Buy doing that, you will be stuck with 8 for ever now, as you can not update it or upgrade to 10.

    Why did he do that?
    Without your authorization and clearance?

    What else did he install?

^ also I'd be a bit upset that the 2 USB ports were not working. What did he say when you pointed that out to him?

I know it's fake. I never expected anything else where I live. A bit like the women.. I'm finding Win 8 okay. I'll worry about Win 10 another time.
Thanks for all replies. Life is a learning curve.

Looking for a Google solution as to why my ports weren't working it recommended my doing a Windows Update. That's when I found out the 'error code' and couldn't do updates. Pointing it out to him just went over his head. He kept the computer and installed Win 8. Sometimes round here it's best not ask cuz it's not the done thing.

I'm not that competent on a computer. I followed the instructions on websites but it still didn't sort out the problem.
