Tutorial for hosting photos , images on TD gallery

    attention luddites

I will attempt to now edumacate you in the dark art of posting photos on this board whilst simultaneously actually hosting the photos in the gallery - they say it cannot be done , but I am here to show you how.

first it is easiest if you open the gallery in a new tab next to the tab with the teak door thread you wish to post your photo , image , stuff

create an album in your gallery to place you photos

    click on new

change new album to a name all of your own - then apply modifications

ok - after the stressfull start , you may wish to take a cigarette/Coffee break and reflect on your technical wizardry

    next

on the main gallery page you will see the little house button in the top left - hover your mouse over it and a link saying upload file will appear - click on upload file

then click on browse and navigate to the photo you wish to upload - as you can see you can do about 10

next select the album you wish to place it in - you may also add file titles and descriptions and keywords - these will be indexed by google etc , so be creative if you wish

continue - and repeat for each file you browsed for an uploaded

    until this appears

then back to the main page - and click on your newly uploaded photo

    click on your photo

right click on the photo in the window that pops out and select copy image location

go back to the tab of the thread where you wish to post your photo

click on the add picture icon

paste in the box the URL you got when you copied the image location

    and thus

If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

Good thread Baldrick. I would advise people to resize their images first before starting anything. 1024KB or under.

Don't need to right click, under the image is the vb code and a big F off "copy to clipboard" button.

If no box appears then you may be blocking pop ups....

    But, no matter.

Under the image is a text box labelled vb code that has the URL encased in [IMG] tags already.
Just copy that and past it directly into your post.

All the Image post box does is put the tags on urls.....

I was going to say that when I post my pics it ain't done that way but on second thoughts I'm butting out of this posting up picture gig.

Leave it up to Willy and Baldrick to sort out.

    Much better I reckon.

And here is the steps taken to upload a picture to EVERY other forum I am a member of.
1 select picture from a file on your computer
    2 OK
    Done
Which part of this do the admin at TD have trouble understanding ?
No other forum has any trouble with viruses or other nasties so why does TD make such a big deal out of it ?
As said already I fully understand how to do it I just refuse to jump through countless hoops just to post an inocuous fcuking picture
Something which the vast majority of posters here have some problem grasping
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !

I see Necron has been having a go at your posts too! I wonder if somebody got modded up and is still learning his way around the buttons...

Very nice, Baldrick, except I do not have the option to "Copy Image Location" when I right click on the image.

I also do not see any vb code under the image.

Yet I have posted images before.
    Any suggestions?

Is there any way to upload from an iPad? The hover to bring up the menu doesn't function in safari on iOS. So I can't find the upload file option is not there.
