Go up the top and press :Private messages and look on the left hand side

when you see a post by Jarvis, or yellow trip, click on the little scales under their avatar and press 'I disapprove'.

Ahh, that won't work, even a Welsh moderator should know this after more than 10.000 posts.
You have to add a little text in the field provided, such as "cnut" or "inbred Manc" for Jarvis and "inbred yank" for yellow trip.

can anyone tell me why my avatar seems to appear sometimes and not others? is it too big?

Your having browser problems as your avatar is there for each post, or if you mean your signature then that only shows once per page and then the post has to be long enough to warrant it.

when I try to link a .gif avatar it only shows a still picture....

why????????
