    Hospitals Bangkok which are best

Anyone got views on the good hospitals around Bangkok
I want a good efficient reasonably priced hospital --the sort that thais with money would use
Also any views on teaching hospitals would be appreciated

One of the top picks on the Social Security list of hospitals is Chameleon Hospital Thonglor. I've been there a few times and it's clean, good service, doctors speak English and there's some good looking nurses.

Funny you mentioned that ,some 12 years ago had appendicitis whilst in Bangkok went in there I think its spelt Camillan and they whipped it out before i could decide whether I wanted it done there --after I found that the surgeon was operating normally in Bumragrad and the cost 25000 which at the time seemed reasonable --good clean job and couldnt find the scar if i tried

Hi donald. My mother, stepfather and I have been using Lad Prao Hospital on a regular basis since around 2005. They go there every year for their check ups, and when I lived in Bangkok, that was the hospital I would use for any medical and dental services.

Their prices are really reasonable, the doctors, nurses and all other staff are very professional, and they are quick about everything. They have all the departments that you would need in any hospital too.

All the doctors speak very good English, but only some of the nurses speak English. This is no problem, though, because they will still go out of their way to help you, or find someone who speaks English.

I've used Bangkok Hospital in Phuket and my stepfather has used Bangkok Hospital in BKK. We are both happy with them too, but their prices are a bit higher.

What part of BKK? Chaoprya in Pin Klao is very good, very reasonably priced, exceptionally clean and the doctors speak excellent English.

My GF is a Nurse/Dietitian there.

    .
Not had a lot of experience with hospitals, but the few I have been in contact with have actualy all been pretty good. The ones I have had contact with are Bumrungrad (expensive), Saint Louis Hospital (sathorn) for a medical health screen - very good and efficient. Chaoprya is also very good, think (if I recall correctly) they have a very good neuro department there. Went (to visit) once or twice at Piyavate, which seemed also to be pretty good.

Through work I am signed up at Bangkok Adventist Mission Hospital - went once and was quite impressed also - english speaking doctors.

the "government" ones can also be good quality medical treatment (if you pick the right one) - there are a few quite highly respected ones - there is a good TB one (would need to check the name) on the outskirts of bangkok, and siriraj is also very good for medical treatment - BUT - can be long wait times (hours).

For teaching hospitals, Siriraj, Ramatibodi - good, but again the wait times are long - even with appointments.

If you stick at hospitals in and around bangkok, you will get reasonable to good service/treatment. Any of the ones mentioned would be where Thais go, except that Bumi would be richer Thais.

One point to bear in mind is that many docs work in at least two places - siriraj and bumi for example - same doc different price.

That is because they never operated, but charged you anyhow.
