    Old Age...

Anybody else falling apart with old age ?

I have been having afternoon naps lately....these seem to help, but then i wake up feeling cranky.

I have 2 tennis elbows, stiff ankles in the mornings, my left shoulder feels like it has been torn....but god knows how or why.

An ear infection that has not cleared up for months on and off...

The soles of my feet are starting to look like grandpas did...all scaly and dry with big chunks peeling off....need to go to one of them fish doctor places....Only problem after i leave, the fish will be all full for a week and not work...just sit around burping and farting..

    Not dribbling yet though.
I like poisoning my neighbours dogs till they die cos I'm a cnut

Been to 4 of em...1 in Bkk, I in Korat and 2 in pak Chong.

had it 4 times in last 10 months, 3 times in last 3 months.

Been sucked several times now....kinda getting to like it...its the tingling while he doing it that does it for me..

It is bringing tears to my eyeys and gives me the same satisfaction as pulling hairs outa me nose.

wonder if sucking can become addictive

Use sandpaper. I use 80 grade aluminium oxide, it cleans up your heels in a jiffy.

Damn and some folks on here think I am in bad shape.
My feet look like they did when I was 20, but I always wore good shoes and still do, I ain't into running around barefoot or with no socks.
Had frozen shoulder a couple years ago, but it went away alright, sinus a little bad this time of year with shit coming into bloom and trees leafing out.
But by the time I am your age I will pobly be getting the fall aparts too.

No idea how old you are mate but as i grew up i always thought 60 was really old. When i was a nipper, 60 was really old.
People live longer now and generally take better care of themselves, but as we did not have the advantage of all these government health warnings, we will only see minor benefits.
As i am within spitting distance of my 56th birthday, i feel much younger, despite suffering similar aches an pains to you. My body and its malfunctions are a product of the life i have led.
i have always been keen on keeping fit, and seem to take it more seriously as i get older.
So all things considered, if i keep to a reasonable and moderately debauched lifestyle, it should last another 20 odd years at least.
When it gets to the point when it isn't fun anymore, i plan to grow old very disgracefully.

Me too. Had I known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself when I was young.

Try some 'Coxium" tablets. Glucosamine sulphate. Good for painful joints. Replaces the lubrication in the joint,so they say. Worked for me .
    Other makes are available.

Not if allergic to shell foods.!

The naps are essential if you are to remain reasonably alert and not fall asleep during a meal. Ending up face down in a tom yam is less than elegant!

I'm sure i read about some tablets you can take to help with maintaining energy levels as you get older?

Me, if i'm tired i try to find somewhere anonymous to sleep.

Spot on with the Glucosamine tablets, my old man gave up playing squash when he was 50 because his knees were shot. He swears by those tablets for aching joints.

^^ I only found that out whilst researching who said "Defeat is okay" ? Apparently it was Nelson Mandela's chiropodist.

Getting old is a little in the mind. Old cars can be kept going for a long time if you keep an eye on things and maintain em well. It's just that a lot of people don't maintain em.
Geting cranky after an afternoon nap is normal, even for young people. You could try varying the time a little.....either earlier or later.

Aching joints are due to inflammation. Do a search of Google and find some info about foods you can eat which will reduce inflammation. Glucosamine (as mentioned) works for some for some people, not others. If you don't mind taking pills, try anti-inflammatory ones for a week or so, but be careful about long-term use.

I second the use of 80 grit sandpaper on the heels. Have used it for years. Just don't fold it over or the edge will cut into you. Just do as much as you can one day when your feet are dry. Then do more the next day.
Or you can buy cream to soften the skin, and a piece of pumice stone to rasp it off. I love the feeling after I've done it.....feel young again.
If your feet have that certain burning, hot feeling, then of course it's a fungal infection as well which is causing the flaking. Lamasil cream works a treat, or even just soaking in salt water every day for 15 minutes. But then you have to treat your shoes and socks with an antifungal.

If you're not "that" old and things start falling apart, you should consider having a blood test. Maybe some imbalance or infection somewhere that weakens the immune system. An appropriate diet or treatment can then solve all your problems.

I am starting to feel old, probably due to working myself half to death the last 12 months. Looked in the miror yesterday and noticed a couple of gray hairs that werent there last time I looked. Bloody 38 and feel like I am getting old fast

I go to a cute young thing in my village, who uses some sort of a thing with a razor blade in it, to clean up the heels of my feet, trim my nails and massage my feet for 50 baht.

    Nawty,
Some of your sympoms, like the sore shoulder,(points of shouldres) aching joints or back-ache may indicate circulation probs.

    Check it out mate.

Mine were accompanied by high/low blood pressure fluctuations, tingling toes and fingers and a kind of leg cramp.

OK now, still have a pint a shag and a good time, weight good, exercise lightly, eat lightly, sleep when I like, don't pass out any more, not grumpy in the mornings.

I eat garlic, fish oil, vits B, C and E, along with as much acidophylus yoghurt and any protein and fresh raw fruit and veg as I can handle.

I don't eat Thai style bread, or Asian beer or processed foods except the odd jar of olives or marmade or vegemite. Only eat the best.
