    Name your favourite Moisturizer

With the high temperatures, drying effects of aircon, UV rays, bangkok pollutantion, and wind, your face has to endure a lot each day and can become damaged, dry, itchy and flaky as a result.

Moisturizing is no longer seen as a gay or girlie blouse thing. Moisturizing your face on a daily basis will help promote hydration, skin cell regeneration, healing, and prevent damaging effects including wrinkles and lines, etc. Quite a few also contain sun protection also.

All men should consider this, a number of products are available on the market, but which one works best for you?

My preference is low or non perfumed ones, eg: Gillette Complete SkinCare Protect Facial SPF 15 Moisturizer or Nivea for Men Moisturizing lotion.

I missed that one. But speaking of facials, ensure that they use Ella Bach products, they really are the best for your skin. Once every couple of weeks should do.

Since I played 18 holes of golf today in blazing sun, my skin was feeling a touch damaged. So this evening after showering I used Nivea After Skin care moisturizer.

I'm truly disappointed, I expected a few cavemen dinosaurs would laugh, but I honestly thought that a fair number of you would be smart enough to be looking after your own skin...

So if you use products to help keep your skin healthy you must be gay?

Do you also think using shower gels/creams and soap is gay?

Some strange people on this forum.

    Good thread.

I use a product called Nuskin - uses a moisturizing agent called NaPCA, which is a humectant -- essentially it draw moisture from the environment *to* and *into* your skin. It's also oil free, which is essential for any real moisturizer.

Most commercial moisturizers use oil to lock moisture into your skin (hence why they say to use them after washing your face), but it results in a layer of oil on top of your skin, which basically sucks.

Humectant based moisturizers attract moisture to your skin, and keep it thus sufficiently moisturized in the truer sense of that term.

Nuskin is not the only product based on that concept - if you do a Google search for 'NaPCA and oil free' you should find a bunch of other products - I just found Nuskin to be best as it's clean, clear, and is not perfumed.

Regardless of the use of moisturizer, you should also make sure to drink sufficient quantities of water, and keep your alcohol consumption to a minimum (or, zero), as alcohol dehydrates (and makes you fat - so, either way, you can't win).

The nice side effect of taking care of your skin --- the girls notice.

As a side note - interesting how many guys on this thread are apparently terribly afraid of their own sexuality, judging by the homophobic comments that abound. I thought these thread were supposed to be off limit to children...?

That is a good point. But if you do drink alcohol, it is even more imperative that you look after your skin.

Though most people getting pissed appear unable to find any moisturizer anyway, nor do most inebriated drunkards seem to care about their appearances.

It's just natural selection, really, don't you think?

They used to give you an Evian moisture spray on Biz Class in some airline I regularly flew with, prolly Emirates. Flying does dehydrate your skin because of the aircon.

Thats the only moisturizer I've ever used, frankly I think cosmetics are a waste of time.

The point with skin is that its a barrier to its external environment and slathering stuff n the out side doesn't help, you have to take care of your skin to prevent damage, like grow a beard.

Clinique is good, but I use Estee Lauder now for my face. True, lots of water intake is good for the skin. I noticed that many body moisturizers contain alcohol. Kinda defeats the purpose. I always used to use Revlon Honey & Almond, but it's discontinued now. I shifted to Keri lotion. Lubriderm never did anything to keep my skin satiny smooth.

I did that about 35 years ago and now I have skin like a god,,

    a god damn goat.

But all bullshit aside,, I use what my granny did on my skin, just as a moisturizer and for scuffs and scratches, this stuff has been used in the working/ranching community since 1899 and is made in Vermont where winters are rough.

It is CLOVER BRAND BAG BALM, made in Lyndonville Vermont, comes in a green can and has since 1899, can be bought at farm supplies stores and most pharma shops in the USA. and my wife just loves it and I have had to have 2 cans sent over from the USA in the time I have been here.
Best stuff you will ever use and the only stuff I use.
