Have had a minor issue for around 10 years, on my upper left torso. Thought to possibly be a small stone in my left ureter (too small to show up on x-rays/ultrasounds etc), or it got kinked (one Thai doctor’s thoughts), or possibly something else such as a pinched nerve, etc.
Typically go for a full medical checkup every 3 – 5 years, with extra mention to check that area for possible causes of the dull pain that comes and goes to varying degree. Have probably done 3 full checkups –xrays/ultrasounds, all fluids checked etc etc and none have ever found a cause.
As the years go by it’s definitely getting worse in terms of level of discomfort, and frequency and duration of such, but isn’t overbearing yet. If the docs were able to find the cause I’d get it sorted, but it isn’t showing its head yet.
Maybe time to get some health insurance with a view to them ponying up whatever the cost is to fix it when it does get too much in xxx years time. Previously covered with Bupa, but not anymore. I’ve never bought any health insurance myself, only car and motorbike insurance.
This seems quite good for seeing different packages.

But it’s all gobbledygook to me.
Of course it will all have been money down the khazi that could have been money saved is they say ‘Preexisting condition, no coverage!’
So I’d like one that doesn’t have that clause. If possible. Is there a way to check for such things, where maybe they add to the premium, but an issue that requires surgery that has existed in the patient for 10 years before buying their coverage will be covered?
I’d also like to be covered for cancer treatment.
