They concluded that 92 percent of people with a high cholesterol level lived longer, and called for a re-evaluation of the guidelines for cardiovascular prevention, “in particular because the benefits from statin treatment have been exaggerated.”

    Your link says this:

The Great Cholesterol Myth reveals the real culprits of heart disease, including: inflammation, fibrinogen, triglycerides, homocysteine, belly fat, triglyceride to HDL ratios, and high glycemic levels.
    And I said this:

I'm also extremely wary of Doctors that push a book of theirs for sale, or want you to subscribe to their YouTube channel.

Last year in August went three weeks without a smoke and then broke down and had a couple one day. Then went another 5 weeks without one. Had it kicked and then just decided one day in October to have a smoke and still smoking.

I tried to modify my diet and exercise regime about ten years ago. Hypertension could no longer be ignored, and I had to accept that medication could keep it under control.

My alcohol consumption has decreased dramatically, but I still have a problem with food and cigarettes.

At my age, I am content to listen to my body, and keep to the minimum hypertension meds. I eat when I’m hungry, and sleep when I’m tired. It’s not a perfect solution but simple pragmatism and a more sensible approach to food intake and exercise means I don’t have to deny myself the ocassional treat.

I intend to enjoy whatever time I have left, within reason.

Yeah, you don't want a stroke and to end up a semi paralysed dribbling wreck.
Happened to a mate of mine at 40,hes still fvcked 10 years later and a inconvenience to his young family.
    Sad situation.

The poor sod was the life and soul of the party before, now he's in a wheelchair half blind.

Our kids are the same age.

He was a successful builder with employees etc

But he did 12 pints and 60 cigs a day which I suspect contributed to the stroke.

Even his wife reckons it would of been better if he hadn't survived.

Everyone would have remembered how he was not how he is now.
    Shalom
