    Its Fitness Friday

2 pints of protein shakes, bouncing off the walls now.
Time to head to the gym for the mother of all workouts.

Hitting the gym 2 or 3 times a week but hitting the beer and kebabs twice a week too, so I'm still about a stone overweight and sporting more chins than a Chinese phone directory.

This New Year lose the extra pounds from last year resolution, which I kidded myself would work, just isn't working.

I think I need a few weeks on the famous South American C-fast plan.

I'm doing some weightlifting at the moment. In fact, I'd better go to the fridge for another ice cold dumbell.

I moved on to those, i find the 1/2 KG Old Speckled Hens are just right for an endurance workout.

I dunno mate. I was in this bar last night and approached by some lonely horny Norverner wearing his sons jeans and trainers with an ET-esque finger, telling me to phone home.

Blue Moon is a Very nice beer. Usually knock back a bunch when I visit the states.

I apologize this is a fitness thread. I just completed a full on physical last week at Bangkok hospital. Extremely comprehensive physical and took 6 hours but I wanted a baseline for my wife and I. I was a bit worried when the doc saved the liver results tab for last. Thought "Oh Shit here we go". Opened it up and all nominal. Surprised me a bit that did. Everything in order except they found me to be Vitamin D insufficient. That struck me odd as well as I am out in the sun constantly.

So I guess more beer by the pool is in order.

It is an American beer brewed by Coors, so I am surprised to see it in the UK. But I noticed that the cooler is stuffed with Budweiser.

Nice to see that chitty did not last long on his new year resolution. As usual.

I've put on 2kilos of pure muscle so far, the supplements have helped.
I cant see myself getting back up to my peak of a solid 98kg 2 years ago .
Every other day down the gym for an hour.
    Resolution holding firm.

Buck in the US, I had a Gym room , Nothing fancy, a Nautilus machine and some free weights. Being here in Thailand almost a year now and have done very little excursive other than riding our bicycles 6-10 Km a few times a week .We do have a mostly empty large room for a Gym here but I have not set up a gym yet because after we go to Greece next month , if things work out as I think they should we might get a place there and if so we will have to make a decision whether to sell the house in Thailand or the house in the US. The logistics and economics of maintaining three houses in tree different countries is more than I can handle. I used to go to the gym pre-pandemic, but with covid I dont think it's a good idea.
I will be turning 65 in June and at my age I thing it would be impossible ar at least very difficult to regain what I had, but it would be a good idea IMO to try and maintain what I have left
I have adjusted my diet to eat more vegetables and lean protein and stay away from pasta, bread, rice and the likes. cut down on my drinking, and I have not had a soda in years. It's a shame because I like to bake, but unfortunately with just the two of us I end up easting most of what I bake .
Anyway when we come back from Greece in the fall and have decided that we will keep the Thai house , as I think we will, I set up a gym.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

If anyone is looking for casein protein, there's a really good Lazada 3-3 deal (which I guess ends at midnight)- 5.2lbs (2.35kg) for just under 2K shipped:

SCITEC Casein Protein (Casein Complex 2350g Belgian Chocolate) เคซีน โปรตีนทานก่อนนอน (Special Protein)

There are some decent (not great, but an OK price for 2022) deals on Baam! whey protein as well (under 2500bt with a voucher for 10lbs/4.54kg).

    BAAM 100% MY WHEY 10 LBS เวย์โปรตีนเพิ่มกล้ามเนื้อ ลดไขมัน
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I have one of those. Bought for wife. She used for about a week after arrival, then stopped and I asked why and got the "Its too hot and to much work"....All you can do is laugh and shake your head.

That aside, I have a descent gym system here plus a free bar, some free weights, treadmill and cycle machine. I use it all every morning. 30 min or so on treadmill then weight machine and every other day free weights. I also ride my bike 5 to 10km every day (Depends on mood and temperature). I swim but not every day. I use the pool for lounging..

To BB's point, I am not trying to become some ripped guy, just stay reasonably fit, sustain myself, avoid falling into that pill regiment and keep mobility. As we age the work, commitment, diet it takes to become physically trim and well toned is far too much sacrifice. I am on the 3rd and final segment of life. I just want to burn enough calories each day to offset the beer/bourbon I drink plus a few fat ribeye steaks.
