Here we go again. Good luck for we folk getting the jab anytime soon.

Thais, not foreigners, get jab priority

"Thai people will always be given priority for Covid-19 vaccines, the Ministry of Public Health said yesterday, denying reports that some expats living in the kingdom would also be allowed to register for free jabs.

The ministry said while the government wanted take care of everyone living here, it had no plans to give free vaccines to expats due to very limited vaccine stocks, so Thai people would be the first to get it.

"The vaccines right now are only reserved for Thai people who are now at a high-risk level or living in the severe outbreak areas," said spokesman Rungrueng Kitphati. "They [expats] should wait for a clear policy from the government.

"In the future, the country will provide more alternatives for vaccines so they could have a chance of getting it. Please don't worry."

''There will soon be a surplus of vaccines so it will not be difficult to get them."

On Monday, some expats announced on social media that they had successfully registered to get the vaccine via the Mor Prom Line application.

@joecummings wrote on Twitter he had booked to have his vaccination at McCormick Hospital in Chiang Mai in June.

However, the ministry was quick to deny that the government had any plans to give free jabs in June and July to foreigners aged over 60 with underlying health issues.

So far, 1.498 million people in priority groups have been inoculated, including public health officers, frontline workers and people in high-risk areas.

Perhaps nice newsie info from ministry.

So far, although I have yet been given a specific jab date, I was assured by Ampoe health folks I am eligible and will get Stage 1 jab.

As with most things here, depends on what the specific offices decides.

Never trust TVF for anything but gossip or woke news. A lot of talking heads with no real knowledge.

My wife has been in contact with her hospital colleagues in BKK. There was "Gossip" about other vaccines that will be available very very soon and that ANYONE over 60 will be eligible, Thai and expats. My belief is that we will all be able to receive an inoculation when they are readily available. All this sensationalized crap being spewed that Expats and foreigners will not get one is just made up BS.

Every country has struggled with managing this program. Thailand is no different. I still feel far safer here then I would if I was in the US or Europe

When I looked it was Thai language and screenshots only. My translator app/wife doesn't do image text.

Neither actually. Its has poor effectiveness and I do not want to mix them at this juncture. The data for what happens mixing inoculations is unknown but why would I get a vaccine with poor protection? I am in no hurry.

The gf has just messaged me to say that she has this morning booked Covid vaccinations for the two of us at Bangkok Hospital in Udon Thani.

She hasn't told me what vaccine or at what cost because apparently the hospital don't know themselves, so I also don't know when. Anyway, the hospital told her that the govt has allowed 5 million doses to private hospitals and they are now taking registrations because they have an allocation.

Maybe useful info for some here.

The Bangkok Post reporting what the Health Minister said in response to complaints from Thais bitching about us nasty farangs getting a jab. Figure mostly a statement of political nonsense to divert from the totally bollocks virus containment the kunt headed.

Tempest in a teapot. The number of over 60, pink ID card holding farangs is a miniscule percentage of the population.

Yes, that is my understanding too.
If over 60 plus underlying issue then astrazeneca (locally produced)
    Others Sinovac

    nonsense

israel, the uk, the uae, chile , the usa, hungary, bhutan and malta certainly did not struggle.

they planned in advance and have rolled out successful vaccination programmes.

thailand (see the progress chart posted above) have struggled and will continue to struggle thanks to racist policies, mismanagement and corruption.

ask your wife to spend less time reading tittle tattle on instabook and line.
