I had surgery for a hernia last year. Nothing to it. I had minimally invasive surgery - two tiny incisions that allowed the surgeon enough access to do the necessary. He repaired it, and removed the excess tissue for biopsy. Biopsy was benign; I was in the hospital for a day after surgery. Dissolving stitches, so no need for a return visit. Healed within a few days. Just looked and can't even find the scar now.

There are a few different types of surgery. Has your surgeon discussed with you what type will be done?

^^That's what I had. Simple. The only caveat with mine was that the doc said he wouldn't be certain until he got in if that procedure would be possible, as it would depend on how much internal scar tissue remained from two previous major gut surgeries - one of which he said looked like it had been done with a chain saw. In the end, it worked fine.

If you are worried about getting a boner and embarrassing the girl you can have a male nurse shave you downstairs like what Willy does

I’ve had 2 done. One mesh by the balls and another near the bellybutton. Both laparoscopic and both pretty easy.

The ball one was freaky because my ballsack turned kinda blue/black for a few days.

    Good times.

I had one and opted for the keyhole surgery under a local anesthetic so I was mildly surprised and a whole fuck load of confused to awake in a haze from a general anesthetic wanting to puke my guts out—never a good time but especially after surgery—to find they’d sliced me open. It was utter shit and recovery was a bitch.

    Anyway enjoy!

I've had hernia repairs on both sides of my groin and in my belly button, all caused by over exertion while on the job. Groin recoveries were the worst, genuine pain for a few days after but why wouldn't there be considering you've just been cut open? Be warned BLD, you don't want to even think about things like sneezing, laughing, coughing, or shagging for a while after the op

Have you looked into the problems with mesh surgery? I’m dealing with an umbilical hernia, and I’ve spoken to several surgeons, regarding options. Most of them won’t even do mesh surgery, because of the potential complications.

mesh complications include adhesion, bowel obstruction or perforation, infection, rejection and migration. After hernia mesh surgery, patients have reported symptoms of pain, mesh failure and hernia recurrence. Problems with hernia mesh can occur immediately after the surgery or years later.”

I am sure that did not come out as intended LOL otherwise you are the first person in the world looking forward to a hernia operation.
Did you ever stop and consider that your condition might be as a result of those otherwise very attractive bathing suits you wear?

Best of luck and a quick and complete recovery.
