I've not had a drink of alcohol since New Years Eve. It's hardly a big deal unless you have a problem.

I drink more than I should, not afraid to admit.

But most of the time when you make claim I'm posting pissed, I've been dead cold sober - so you're wrong there.

    ^Suure. lol

July is a hard month for me to not drink as it is the best summer month. However, I haven't drank since last weekend (with a huge hangover), but have decided to not drink anymore as before last weekend I hadn't had a drink in like three months.

...I've never understood the point of a bender: drinking until you're incapacitated seems to defeat the purpose...

No chance, I just spent 3 months in Thailand under lockdown with crappy wine at expensive prices.

I'm doing red wines from region to region from France, Italy and Spain as well as whites from France, Italy and Germany before I even think of giving alcohol a rest.

...and then there's G&Ts and Pimm's and Martini and ...

...digestivos, how I miss them after a good meal.

...and Cognac to end the evening or a good Grappa.

Too many things to enjoy and I ain't missing them in July!

The annual campaign, where Kiwis give up alcohol for the month of July, has been reimagined for 2020 in a direct nod to the increased stress New Zealanders are going through with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Dry July NZ Trust is now asking participants to give up alcohol for an amount of time that suits them and has renamed the campaign Dry(ish) July.
It's almost like admitting alcohol is a valid stress reducer and social necessity during troubled times.

Which makes it a no. You cannot rewrite a calendar and exclude the 1st.

But really, are you that dependant on alcohol that you cannot celebrate a single Canada day without it? Need to look at yourself.
