The planet doesn't give a crap. It's an insentient ball of molten iron and rock. When people say "save the planet" they actually mean Save Mankind as a species.
The planet is going to be around for another 4 billion years. Don't think Humans will last even a million. Besides, extinction is the norm, not the exception.

Beef is high in L-carnitine, much more than in chicken and fish. Keep eating beef. It's good for you.

Can't say I miss eating steaks and the like . . . chicken - nah, boring meat. We've been pescatarians for the longest time now, with the odd ME lamb thrown in but our kids eat their burgers and the like when they feel like it . . . oddly enough for an island, seafood is quite expensive in NZ. Good fish is ridiculously priced, even salmon.

The whole beef industry is a worry, though

Couldn't be like my brother being a vegetarian for forty years, however . . . does very little for the tastebuds in unless you add Indian cuisine

If eating meat was what allowed our brains to develop due to the increased protein then let the dumbasses eat veges and their brain will shrink over genrations they will die out.
It shouldn't take long as their brains must be tiny already to believe eatng meat is bad for you.

Not me. I probably spent less than 3,000 baht on beef last year.

Maybe in the future, eating meat and animal produce will be seen to be as anti-social as smoking.?

Watched an interesting docu recently about athletes getting better results and fitness through eating a vegan-only diet:-

All this talk about how bad beef is for you will likely drive me to order up a huge 350gm thick cut USDA 300 day dry aged steak tonight.

That was just one night when I was back in the states a few months ago. I mean just how can that be bad for you. A properly Q'd steak is almost euphoric to eat...

That said though, Eating Thai beef is not only disappointing but its like eating a well used Baseball glove.

Jeff will be along at about 18:00 our time (as he wakes up in America) to tell you how wrong you are

You're totally right of course, but it's not a big prob because we can get beef from US, Aus, NZ, Canada, and Argentina here. I won't even use local beef for braising, it's that bad.

Yeah I've not seen it but have heard of it, Netflix right?

Might give it a watch as well but unless it's going to lower my 100 m time from the current 1 m 23 sec I think I'll stick with the meat too.

If the movie Dark Waters reflects actual events leading to the case against Dupont, and it probably does otherwise there would be massive lawsuits by both Dupont and 3M, we all have c-8 in us and it will stay there long after we're gone. But don't worry, it's already there and if you haven't grown a second head you probably won't.

Yes, those added hormones and anti-biotics that the Yanks use definitely add to the flavour.....

If you can believe the local butcher where I buy my meat when in the states, they only sell range raised no GMO or Hormones meat. However I did not do an analysis on the stuff. It looks good and tastes outstanding.

...and there ain't fashionable gadgetry around to assist.

Thai beef ain't that bad.....even in suggested comparison.

You know how it is: something is repeated often and loud enough - all becomes real and true.
