I'd have that toenail fungus looked after, firstly, before such develops into something more serious.

As for the foot - looks as if Nid has nailed it....or some distant cousin of athletes foot.
    Check it out soon, Geoff.

    Your feet are everything.

The severe form of foot psoriasis is called palmoplantar pustulosis.

Try some Apple Cider Vinegar to ease the discomfort and off to the trusted Doctor.

I'd say that's definitely a good reason to go see a doctor, that's what it is.

Whack on some iodine solution or some 3% hydrogen peroxide solution before you go to bed and when you get up straight after you shower.

If that doesn't work then lop your foot off.

The moccasin variety of athlete's foot causes chronic dryness and scaling on the soles that extends up the side of the foot. It can be mistaken for eczema or dry skin.

The infection can affect one or both feet and can spread to your hand — especially if you scratch or pick at the infected parts of your feet.

Fact: You can catch Athlete’s Foot on your hands (and other places too).

Yeah, you can totally catch athlete’s foot on your hands. Except when you do, it’s not called athlete’s foot anymore – primarily because it’s not on your feet now. It is now called Tinea manuum, or “ringworm of the hands.”
You can also spread Athlete’s Foot to other places. If you transfer the fungus from your feet to your crotch, you get jock itch, or Tinea cruris. You can also spread it to your scalp (Tinea capitis), your face (Tinea faciei), or anywhere on your body (Tinea corpora).

No need, that's why he's posed the question here, the Thai congregation of medical professionals. Get with the program, Nid.:

On a serious note, one of the things I do have is a damn good dermatologist on file. Sorted out a couple of things right sharpish.

Well, that was a long day. Got to the Hosi. at 08.00 and finally got home at 15.00 a long wait but worth it. The Doc. whom we knew was good, explained everything to step son in Thai and prescribed various ointments and tablets which were what I had expected from various helpful comments here and elsewhere. He's got a sensible treatment regime and is to return in a month. Thanks folks.

Good luck to the wee fella.

Was he prescribed to take each of those pills each day, so he finishes them all in one week, or one pack first, then another, and then another over 3 weeks or whatever?

1 of each per day plus regular washing and ointment. Of interest was the recommendation that after washing to wipe the infected areas with apple vinegar, dry, then ointment.

Just outta curiosity, CJ - what were the conclusions regarding the toenails, less the athlete's foot looking rash?
I'm guessing that they're two separate issues. Or, perhaps not.

The toenail issue is a bacterial infection to be treated with the cream Clotriderm.
