Honestly Cluj i'd respect you more if you were a leader, but you let yourself get in that state in the first place. Good on you for losing it though.

Dill, the opposite, i developed big legs from having to run away from the girls - the rest followed.

Well, ffs, to say I'm pissed off is an understatement...

I spent four weeks offshore, no alcohol whatsoever.

I was in the gym for an hour most evenings before my shift, well probably two out of every three days. I did 45 minutes fast walk (5km) followed by various odds and ends.

I watched what I ate for the entire month. Small meals and low on carbs. No snacks at all.

After the four weeks I put on my 'going home' jeans and they felt a bit looser than a month previously, so all was good.

I get back last night, weigh meself on the same scales I weighed in on before leaving home, and I've put on 4 kg!

I just weighed meself this morning, and I've lost 3kg, but still one heavier than a month ago.

I seem to lose more weight by sleeping than going to the gym.

So, unless I start cutting pieces off I guess its eating even less, and more time in the gym.

It sure gets hard to lose weight once you've passed 50.

Are you drinking sugary drinks like coke or 7up? Cakes biscuits? Too much fruit? Also fruit juice is very high in sugar.
Sugar is the stuff to avoid.

No cokes, 7ups etc, just the occasional fruit juice. No cakes and I made a point of not having a single biscuit for the entire trip. Not easy as there is always a tin of chocolate biscuits by the coffee machine.

Eating fruit before a meal was one of my tactics to take the edge off my hunger. I ate a lot of fruit, so maybe that is a culprit.

I felt that my diet has improved a lot and been pretty healthy, but I obviously need to be stricter.

Another thought, my job offshore is now entirely in front of a computer. I doubt I'd walk further than 200m in a day, beetween cabin, mess and office. Maybe even spending an hour in the gym each day doesn't make up for such lack of activity.

    Anyway, I know what's required...

Don't be discouraged by that weight is in someways irrelevant. What you need to look at is body composition. There's every chance that the weight you put on is a mix of water weight and added muscle.

One thing's for sure, weighing yourself and comparing between those two periods isn't going to give an accurate picture. It's something you need to do daily at the same time and under the same circumstances -- e.g. every morning after you've pee'd but before you've eaten -- to give an accurate indication of where you're at and what you weight is trending to.

Nope, don't conflate fructose (fruit sugars) for sucrose (and the other shite) because they aren't the same.

That being said drinking something like fresh orange juice isn't that great because you get a whole heap of calories (about 3-4 whole oranges worth per glass) without any of the benefits of the fiber and being satiated. You can drink a glass of juice in seconds but it would be an effort to eat the equivalent whole.

    Same goes for raisins.
Eating a small handful of raisins is quick and easy but it's like eating a bunch of grapes.
And at the end of the day fructose is still sugar that gets converted to glucose in the body same as sucrose just slower.
And as ant said, don't be discouraged.
If you need some motivation check out dill on the something in the whey thread to see what progress is possible.

What Cujo actually meant to write was observe Dill's transformation ... rather then checking Dill out.

... we'll leave that up to TomCat

Weighing yourself under the same conditions is important.

In the morning after a pee while completely bollock-o, works.

As Ant said, could be water weight and the added muscle.

Good luck with the evening walks as opposed to evening beers. It's much better.

okay so the wife got me a new FitBit yesterday. Happy as can be. Then I discovered I have to set the thing up and sync it to my computer or phone again I prefer the computer. Fuck me I hate the technical shit. I am now going to take a short nap to prepare myself for this daunting task. I am hoping it will be easy using this method.

just freaking click add new device and then click Charge 3. Argh........

The transformation. Hopefully a motivational thread-screenshot-228-jpg

    No it doesn't.

This looks like a job for Captain Underpants...

    No I better not

Count all the calories you are eating. It sounds labour intensive but it isn't if you download an app called myfitnesspal that keeps log so you can easily enter your meals after a while. There's a similar one called Fat Secret.

Fuck most fruit and fruit juice, soft drinks, milk, bread and sugar off, substitute potatoes for pumpkin or sweet potato.

Live on lean meat like chicken breasts, tenderloin steaks and pork Loin with pumpkin and a few veg.

Buy some whey protein, it'll fill you up and take it so you are getting about 100g of protein in you including what you get off meat. Use that as your snacks between meals.

Drink half a litre of water when you wake with a teaspoon of fat burning apple cider vinegar with the mother.
Drink half a litre of water before all your meals, it also fills you up.

Up your workrate on that treadmill to 7k a day with 10kgs in a rucksack. Start with 5. You'll burn even more calories

Buy prunes and eat one for dessert and stevia for your black coffee to sate your sweet tooth.

You'll wanna be eating around 1500 calories to guarantee burning off a kg a week. That app I mentioned will show you how many after you enter weight and height.

As Ant mentioned be careful of fruit, especially ones like mangos that are full of calories.

    So my main staples are

    For Beeakfast I usually take-
    500ml water with teaspoon ACV
    Black coffee with stevia
    100g strawberries,
100g of blueberries. Get frozen they are cheaper and still contain all nutrients even after freezing
    50g of Greek yoghurt
    30g of oats
Tablespoon of chia seeds(expand in your gut to fill you up)
    More black coffee
Another black coffee and about 8 cigarettes
    A shit

    Lunch
    One of meats mentioned
    100g of Pumpkin
    Asparagus
    Brocolli
    Mushrooms
    Onions
    Spinach
    Kale

    For Elevenses
    Protein shake

    For dinner
100g of smoked salmon, tuna is good too or mackerel. (You should be spoiled in the North Sea for fish)
    2 boiled Eggs, lettuce.

    Supper
    Protein shake.

Do some weights in that gym and watch that whey buff you up in no time. Buy some Creatine once you get into it, you'll really feel your muscles popping through then..and relax at weekends.

You should easily lose 7kgs in the first Month sticking to that

It's all about the calories. Look at those old Jews in concentration camp photos.

Stick to it and like me you'll be waking up to a raging boner again, sometimes your own.

Usually feel fantastic though, your brain function improves, sleep like a log, no more heartburn, loads and loads more energy. I found I don't need aircon so much now too.
And great fitting back into old clothes and the wife's knickers again

I don't have a sore left knee anymore.

I enjoy exercise now which I thought was for weirdos.

Sex is great again after thinking I had erectile dysfunction for a while

And strutting around without that near 10kgs dragging me down is nice. Clothes fit good again now. Just chopped 6 inches off my old belt today which was always a bit long mind.
