I am not sure how strikes work in the UK, but every stike In a hospital by nurses I have seen has a negative affect on patients. Most medication errors, falls and negative outcomes can be tracked back to unfamiliarity with hospital policies and procedures aalong with normal operational differences within each hospital. I would much rather have a nurse who has worked at her job for many years at the same hospital take care of me than a traveller or visiting nurse who was brought in to fill shifts vacated by striking nurses. The same would go for physicians.

This is the reason I bring it up. But if the strikes in the UK do not involve regular physicians not reporting for work and everything is covered as normal, then I guess it does not matter.
They had 5 weeks to prepare for it so they prepared for it. From what I have read, senior consultants replaced the junior doctors who went on strike.

No thanks. Seems like a wild goose chase to me and I am not really a Rupert Mudoch fan or a fan of his media holdings.

So you know of Rupert Murdoch and you know his media holdings so I guess your question of "Who's the murdoch press?" had some other meaning.

could also include the BBC / Channel 4 (all government controlled), tory faction press (mail, toorygraph etc) and all the big corporate media the owners of which are licking their lips to get their mits on the nhs.

Striking Junior Doctors are supported and covered by their senior colleagues. You seem to assume they were just going to let patients suffer and die! What kind of people do you think they are ?

No, I was assuming physician coverage may suffer if junior physicians are not showing up for their shifts. What is the senior to junior ratio at normal operation? I would think the senior physicians would get a bit weary covering all the junior shifts.

If you are telling me there is absolutely no differece in service to the patients, then I would say they are reasonable people. If not, then I would call them stupid people. Fair enough?

indeed - the final nail in the coffin of thought that the people were not to slaves their corporate masters, but free sentient humans. Thatcher did the same as well.

Air traffic control, pre computerisation, was probably the most stressfuul job there is and a moments hesitation or a mistake at the end of a shift endangers hundreds or lives. Ronnies script writers, because be honest with yourself, ronnie was a B rate actor reading a script all of his life, nothing more, nothing less, chose their target, demonized them, misrepresented their real beefs, won public praise for his action, and as a result completely enslaved and fucked over the working man. Thatcher did the same.

This is the same game these tory bastards are playing, but luckily, the public in general are not so stupid to fall for it. They want to privatise the NHS, and finally hand it to their criminal buddies to profiteer from, the same as they want to do with Schooling!

These two steps probably will be too much though, and I do foresee trouble about this. Problem then is, are they actively looking to stir trouble and to what end?
