^ Hah!
Two days ago did 1 hour of spinning (High intensity indoor biking), last night did 30 mins of swimming (beat my record).
Nothing too strenuous for me due to high blood pressure having to be kept under control. However, I managed to break 100,000 steps on day 5 this week. That's averaging about 10 miles a day, so I'm quite pleased.
The problems with my footpads thinning has improved but still not perfect.
The major problem is wearing out shoes so quickly. I need to go back to some serious walking boots again.
2nd cardio of the day.
Sweaty, slow, but good.
^ Good man Mike, Solid distance and pace there.
Lil slow n sweaty heart pumper before breakie. Abs, triceps, delts, pecs before lunch.
Tapering for a 50k run on Sunday - the shortest ultra distance but this one is packed with vertical gain so it's gonna be tough. Finally found a fuelling strategy that allows me to push as hard as I want for the duration - simple equation of consuming at least 60g of carbohydrate every 90 minutes and hydrating before thirst.
Aside from that, winter is here and with it comes strength, condtioning and rowing. Gradually getting stronger and adding weight to compound lifts. And if you ever want to embarrass yourself in a gymnasium and simultaneously fart, puke and cry, try a 2km row for time. It hurts.
I'm hoping for less than six hours Edmondo. Got six big bastard climbs to haul my heavy ass over, so pacing is gonna be of the essence.
And sorry, that should be 60g of carbs every 45mins, not 90. Gotta keep the glycogen stores bubbling.
A little bit slower than last week, just over a minute....but I am a year older now

Well, as Santa was n't coming to Issaan this morning I may as well go for a ride. My favourite route, good roads with hardly any traffic ( apart from a couple of kms along the main road) up and down several small hills. Actually, I forgot today was Christmas Day until I stopped at 7 for some water and the girl said " Happy Clissmas". At the 60km mark i was feeling good and thinking about trying for 100km, but then the pleasantly cooling intermittent light drizzle turned to cold rain. Rain, at this time of the year ? Back to Plan A and head home.
Well, either this thread is dead or nobody has been doing any workouts over Christmas/New Year
But now I'm here I may as well post yesterday's effort :
Concentrated on keeping my heart rate around 120bpm ( apart from one hill where I could n't resist going for a Strava segment PB) so I felt pretty good, could have gone farther if I wanted but clocking up 100kms and ticking off the Strava "Gran Fondo" challenge was enough.
Just a fairly easy walk and 30 minutes Tai Chi this morning.
Wee warm up.
Water break.
Friday abs, delts, triceps and pecs x 6, before beers x 12 + curry x 1.
Good work chaps!
Craving a bike ride out myself but the weather is still freezing here.
So it's the gym for chest, triceps, shoulders and some cardio today followed by a monster portion of Speg Boll.
The ol' bike is in getting a new pair of shoes, so afternoon upperbody and a wee jog before Saturday night gluttony.
ffs if I was any slower there'd be mushrooms growing out of me.
Getting back to 5km in less than 30 mins hasn't happened quite yet.
Cheddar-Slow-Coach.
In my defense I did do 6 upperbody sets before breakfast.
