    Achieved it 2 weeks ago.


    Set out to do 5km in sub 30 mins.



    Achieved it at an avg speed of 10.1kph.


    Damn chuffed with that.


    Guess the next milestone is 10km in sub 60 mins. That will be a while off.

    I just finished running 8km in 40 minutes. This cooler weather certainly helps with running more easily.

    Well, I worked my way up to 10kph 3-6% incline on a treadmill - under a blasting 25 C air unit for 40-45min. Easy on pace control as its machine controlled. Judge my performance based on respirations. Usually my goal is for labored respirations in the last 2-5 minutes of the workout. Plateaued as my weight started to creep up - so switched my workout to a 45 minute total 5 min cycle of 6kph/10kph - interesting in that the cycle workout provides slightly less calories and only 5.9 km (the old 40 min workout provided 6 km total with warmup/cool down periods) sweating more and a bit more labored respiration's with the 5 minute cycle program.

    But, that being said. No intention of increasing my workout time. 45 minutes per day is my maximum. I used to do a full hour workout a few years ago but saw no appreciable gain versus the 40-45 minute workouts. I have never free run - always use a treadmill to control pace and incline.

    Funally enough i will only cycle outside if I'm going somewhere and enjoying the scenery and variation in roads etc.
    As for running the machines I find more suitable as you focus more on the statistics in front and hit in regardless,almost clinically.

    Different strokes and all that cal...

    My natural diet has really changed. Except for my alcohol intake, that's only multiplied significantly.

    Have gone right off fillers - just a tiny bit of rice/pasta/potatoes/bread with whatever meat and veg I'm having.

    Breakfast has completely changed. The idea of a deep fried hash brown and tin of beans with my eggs and bacon/sausage makes me wanna


    As for fitness, just did a 1 hour test.



    9.38km in 60 minutes, a new personal best.

    (1.5km runnning, 0.5km walking and drinking water, repeated.)
