    Worlds biggest Burger.

IT TOOK 120 eggs to hold it together and four burly men to flip it, but a Sydney cafe has set a record by making the world's largest burger.

The whopping beef burger cooked up at Ambrosia On The Spot, in Sydney's Randwick, tipped the scales at 95.5kg, making it the largest ever created.

The previous record was held by an 84kg burger made in the US.

Owner Joe El-Ajouz said the burger would not be a regular feature on the cafe's menu, considering it took him almost 24 hours to create and three months to plan, but he was delighted with the results.

"I've always wanted to break a world record and this is a bit of fun and a marketing tool to get people in here and get them talking," Mr El-Ajouz said.

The burger required 81kg of mince, 120 eggs, 16 tomatoes, 120 cheese slices, 2kg of lettuce, 21kg of bread and half a kilo of barbecue sauce.

Mr El-Ajouz's wife Iman said the trickiest part was flipping the patty, which took 12 hours to cook through.

Once the meat was cooked, the burger was lovingly assembled by the cafe's staff, then put on display.

Last night, it was being cut up for staff and supporters to sample.

The Aussies now have the largest burger, the Japanese have the world's largest hot dog... we've still got the world's largest cupcake but, damn it, that's just not manly...

It seems Bobs Burger from Pattaya still beats it, December 2007-

Bob’s BBQ & Grill of Pattaya, Thailand has smashed the current record for producing the world’s biggest burger. The landmark in cheeseburger history was created in celebration of the king of Thailand’s 60th year accession to the throne and was part of a wide range of events being held all year in Thailand to mark the occasion.

The unveiling of the massive burger was witnessed by a local TV crew and officials from Ripley’s Believe it or Not who recorded the burger’s weight at a whopping 78.5 pounds which eclipses the previous record of 50 pounds held by Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Pennsylvania, US. Measuring 60 CM (23.5 inches) in diameter and 35 CM (13.75 inches) in height, the burger has been named Big Bob’s Texas Belt Buster and is on the regular menu and can be ordered 12 hours in advance.

“You can order it in the morning and it will be ready to eat in the evening” says Bob Schindler, founder of Bob’s BBQ & Grill. Bob, originally from Houston, Texas founded the restaurant just over 2 years ago to bring authentic American cuisine to Thailand and his oversized burgers have been a hit with locals and tourists. He was aiming to build a burger that hit the 60 pound mark but a few miscalculations resulted in the burger going well over the target weight.

The birth of the burger started off with a custom made bun made in Bob’s in house bakery, and then 25 Kg (55.12 pounds) of Bob’s top quality beef was cooked for 6 hours down to 20.4 Kg (45 pounds). No burger is complete with toppings and this burger was topped off with 2 large heads of lettuce, 15 tomatoes, 4 large onions, 35 slices of cheese, 1½ cups of mustard, 1 cup of ketchup, 4 whole pickles, 4 whole Jalapeños.

Once the official certification is received it will be added to the Guinness World records database under The World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger.

The Big Bob’s Texas Belt Buster will set you back $400 and has taken the race to make the world’s biggest cheeseburger to an international level. How long will it hold the top spot?

Well, it's a unit of mass rather than weight, but it's certainly not 'imaginary'.

Cheeseburgers are dull. How about world's largest sauerbraten or gnocchi.

I wonder how many lives were taken to make an ego-pumping joke that no one will ever eat? Poor dead cows, killed for a laugh.
