Woody's Café in Patong has the best breakfast.
That's real maple syrup, real butter, real Jimmy Dean sausage and a latté included for 199bht. Not the cheapest breakfast but it's nice treat once a week.
oh yea and free high speed wifi

I know Woody is the computer guy right? Where is his cafe? 199 is not so far from 120, which is most breakfasts in Patong.
What makes it really worth it is the real maple syrup and the real sausage.(I aint crazy about the mealy brit excuse for sausage) and of course the proper cup of joe.
yea Woody is computer fellow.
It's located on the soi with the Patong Language school
^Ok, very easy to find then. I'll try it maybe even this morning.
Real maple syrup...mmmmm.
I like pancakes, but the shit Thai syrup I buy at Tesco here tastes like Elmers glue with sugar in it. I think I'm due for a Bangkok trip.
^Sorry Tex, this place is in Phuket. Would be a 20 hours bus trip or about 4+ hours air plus connections.
I realize that, but it got me thinking...
I'm sure Villa carries real maple syrup -- at a bargain half month's wage.
Ok, fook it. I'm going pretty soon to see if this is the best breakfast in the south.
A good breakfast for 199??? For sure your are kidding. Perhaps you get the notebook for free and can take it home. By the way - never saw such a burned bacon. I know a place with a good breakfast for only 600. Just let me know when you will come.
While I would put it a little more diplomatically, I have to agree with ^ , it looks a bit crap to me for 199 baht.
Mind you I don't go much on those waffle things anyway for breakfats, give me a good Muesli and fresh fruit anyday.
I couple of yaers ago I went to great breakfast place on Patong 2 nd Rd, sort of a continental cafe style, had excellent coffee and bread rolls etc, still there?
Sorry made a mistake. My breakfast is only 599 and not 600!!!
I don't know anything about waffles and maple syrup but that plate of eggs, bacon, and suasage (is it?) doesn't look very appetising at all.
Yanks call it Sausage, we call it hamburger patty Ant.
Heres a recipe, note the Maple syrup in hamburger ??
Maple Jimmy Dean
16 ounces ground pork
3 tablespoons maple flavored syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon MSG (such as Accent)
1/4 teaspoon coriander
^Bloody weirdo Yanks! It ain't a sausage unless you can make inappropriate jokes and suggestions about its shape.
Herein lies the rub.I aint crazy about the mealy brit excuse for sausage.
Let the parade begin.
Actually the "crispy" bacon is also one of the highlights, so often you have half cooked bacon that hasn't been properly cured to boot.
Admittedly if one is partial to raw bacon, mealy sausage, canned beans, and a mushy tomato then this breakfast isn't for you.
But real butter, real maple syrup, properly cured and cooked bacon, real Virginia style sausage, with the belgian waffle, then this one rocks. And real tasty coffee instead of the "Lutheran" coffee most places serve.
The next best breakfast in Thailand is the "Froggy" omelet at Ed's Burger Place in Pai.
The breakfast at the Dubliner is my favourite. Certainly better than that sorry excuse for a breakfast in the OP.
