I still say the MADRID is the winner so far....would you agree Marmite?

Don't forget, you had a cold that day and your taste buds were out of whack!!

No. Molly Malones was better, and that was only average.

This thread is about the BEST breakfast, not the cheapest buffet rubbish.
Sorry - this was a misunderstanding. The BEST breakfast - perhaps in the Oriental in BKK? Did you ever try?

Nope. I know Woody the computer guy has run a computer column in the Phuket Gazette for many years, and I've read that, but never tried the eats place.

If you're coming down after April 1, we'll go together like a couple of breakfast virgins. You can either ride on the back of my gf's new red/white fino, in which case it may do a wheelie the whole way, or cruise in my classic Benz. Your choice.

A bit over-priced in my opinion. I think the Dubliner's is better.

The Dubliner's is great - but not as good as in the Hilton. Perhaps Paris takes care there.
But baked beans for instance with a toast at the Dubliner's for about 180 is not cheap either. Pretty much the same as a whole DINNER buffet at Lek or Apex.

Yea, Hate them too NR. In Thailand would rather eat in the street than eat that barely warm gunge they serve as an excuse for food here.
Although quite often in the US, hotels do some great buffets but its a different level and they have someone doing the eggs bacon etc to order.

The Jansom hot springs hotel in Ranong sometimes has a decent breakfast buffet, with some nice chinese vegetable dishes and such. It's very hit or miss though depending on how many guests are in the hotel.

    Usually the buffets here suck.

A buddy told me about a wonderful buffet at the fancy hotel in Udon Thani. Turned out to be a one off thing..all his subsequent visits they didn't have it.

John forgot to mention, Beans on Toast at the Dubliner. Can of Baked Beans with 4 doorsteps for toast. Dubliner still gets my vote in BKK. TP

Has anyone tried Yorkies on Jomtien Beach Road?
Gets my vote, especially the black pudding as an extra. That's if wer'e talking English Breakfast. Continental or American I cannot say.

Here in HH, Ye Olde Buffalo Tavern (previously Buffalo Bills & Fisherman's Wharf) gets my vote for best English breakfast - egg, sausage (real English sausages), bacon, mushrooms, beans, tomato, fried potato, black pudding, toast, tea or coffee & orange juice. Yum!

Vantana's at Thong Sala on Koh Phangan does the best English brekkie I've had in Thailand, even beats The Dubliner which is one of the best in Bangkok.

"Best" is kinda relative but here is my attempt. For an "English" style breaky I can't find one to beat Joule's on Soi 4, across from the 7-11.

This from the man that thinks sweet waffles, maple syrup, sausage patties & cremated bacon are a culinary experience to be savoured.

It's a shame I live so far away as I'm sure we could be of assistance to each other. I'll just have to dream about the breakfast ?

The best breakfast I can get here I'll have to make myself, a Brit style fry:
Pan-fried wholemeal 'toast' with cheese melted on top, fried duck's egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, hamsquare and a beaker of Ovaltine.
Sure beats burned bacon in maple syrup.

I rather insist on this start of the day.
