I think I understand why you think Mexican food sucks in Thailand.

You can't get good beef in Thailand..... period.

    Try the chicken next time.
Good observation......but slightly off the mark.

The beef at Tacos and Salsa was good....excellent beef tacos....only place I ever had good beef in a Mexican restaurant in Thailand.

Being from Texas and growing up on Tex-Mex, I am certainly biased......why? Because the beef in Texas is about the best on the planet.

I would never order chicken at a Mexican restaurant.....of course, the owners of the Mexican restaurants in Thailand want you to order chicken because it is what they make the most profit from.

Pork is a viable alternative and as said earlier, the pork taco at Sunrise Tacos was OK.

I have eaten pork fajitas at a place in Pattaya.......not bad. But I really want beef tamales, beef tacos, chile relleno with beef sauce, beef fajitas, or cheese enchiladas or beef enchiladas.

The "beef problem" is a real one in Thailand.......Thailand simply is behind the rest of the world on this issue and refuses to cater to modern tastes: well-marbled grain fed beef.

You can actually get good beef in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Cambodia and the Philippines......but not Thailand.

    Complete bollocks, as usual.

It's expensive, but you can get world class beef here.

    You are partially correct......congratulations!

The difference is that in the countries I mentioned good beef at a decent price (except Korea, Japan, and Singapore) is easy to find........in Thailand it is not (unless you live next to a fancy store that targets farangs).

The Sunrise Taco outlet in Siam Paragon is a disaster. One poor woman running service and food prep all alone. I was there at lunchtime yesterday and it was chaos. I took a piece of the apple pie home and for those longing for good old American pie you can forget their version. It is heavy and doughy. Still looking for a real piece of apple pie in Thailand.

The apple pie last night at the Bourbon Street Thanksgiving buffet was amazing.

It's on for tonight again. For some of the best American eating I've ever seen it's a must do.

Was invited there today so returned to the scene of the crime... actually a massive improvement. Shared 3 tacos and supreme grande nachos. Way better than last time I was there. Have to be fair and say that everything about the place was improved.

Tacos & Salsa has apparently reopened in Sukhumvit Soi 18 with Jorge at the helm.
