It's the Philippines, there's always the chance that what you want to order is "out of stock Sir."

Assuming in stock, I'd be getting the Bruschetta followed by Osso Bucco but exchanging the steamed rice it comes with for steamed veggies.

That's exactly what was said to me when I ordered the club sandwich today.....

The wife went with the smoked wagyu brisket. What a fooking retarded thing to order as all of the yummy fat was rendered out of the wagyu when smoked. The brisket was about an 1/16" thick. I've had thicker pieces of bacon, which is what it looked like.

I ordered the chorizo pate, onion soup and vodka salmon pasta after hearing the sandwich and the osso were out of stock. The soup was dish water topped in croutons and cheese, but the pate was superb. The pasta mostly sucked, too much cheese and the chef mixed raw diced spanish onions into the sauce, so the taste of onion was strong.

The little deli there was very nice, we'll be back for that. There's a giant ham in the bottom of the fridge there.

One cool thing they did for us is box up the leftovers without being asked. We plan to go back and hit the deli and try the breakfast and Italian sausage, with biscuits and gravy and spaghetti as the final product.

For some reason Salmon in Dill Cream doesn't sound as appetizing as it should.

I did initially order the club sandwich, but they were out of the wagyu, I guess they smoked it all to paper thickness.

We did find a place that sells frozen wagyu beef cubes, I might try to recreate the sandwich on my own. A wagyu sandwich with crispy bacon, turkey and veggies with a spicy mayo sauce does good.

Can't beat Dill cream spattered all over a nice few pieces of fish

I wouldn't go out and splash out on a steak anymore. You can cook your own in 2 minutes and save a fukkin fortune. Best to go for something on the menu you'd struggle to make yourself, unless you're Joe or Armstrong

Not to mention that ordering salmon in the Philippines is utter madness. Especially since Topper has lived here in Washington and he knows what real wild salmon tastes like.

He should have just got the burger.

^ We have a source that home delivers frozen wild salmon, we try and eat "oily" fish (tuna/salmon/mackerel) three times a week.

I think the provincial Fils might be a good place to learn home smoking, and how to whizz up a decent pasta at home. My condolences for the let down.

The difference between the expectation from the menu to what ended up on the plate is staggering.
