    Spotted Pig

...self-described as "fusion Mexican," this restaurant is located on Saladaeng soi 1. We started with the usual guac and chips and (heavily) battered calamari. The guac, while tasty enough, was served in a tiny micro-bowl...and the calamari was too oily to enjoy. I continued with a shredded pork quesadilla while SD ordered the soft fish tacos. Both were fine, not exceptional, and small for the price. My margaritas were served un-iced in a martini glass...the best part of the meal. SD tried the ginger beer and shrugged his shoulders. The Spotted Pig's Thai-Chinese owner's idea of Tex-Mex cuisine appeared to favor small, drab and unappealing. In all, La Monita has nothing to worry about in terms of competition: their servings are more generous, tastier and (usually) efficiently served for similar prices in a far more relaxed atmosphere. We won't be going again...

Thanks for the review, a shame you didn't enjoy the meal.

Thai/Chinese Mexican fusion was enough for me.
