In TC's recent thread, https://teakdoor.com/food-and-drink/...ml#post4400799 (Tsai Eatery), in relation to restaurant recommenations, I mentioned the feedback that I'd just received from recommending this place:
"Based on your recommendation I tried ME, I enjoyed it so much, I have been back 3 times in 2 weeks. So I just wanted to say Thankyou. Best wishes Sue"
Anyway, I was in Kan last November for 4 days, and ate dinner at ME three times, and lunch on the other day. Hard to find as about 5 km outside Kan, and on the western side of the River Kwai Yai. Worth the effort though, as the riverside location is ideal for any meal time.
These are some photos from that trip. Firstly the general location and surrounds.
There are actual steps down to a large raft type pontoon on the river, for anyone arriving by canoe or small boat.
No idea who these people were.
Abe, le patron. Very pleasant guy, happy to drink and shoot the shit with you.
OK, the food. Can't remember all of the dishes as it was last November, only that everything I had was good to excellent. It's not run of the mill Thai food, more a kind of fusion of Western with Thai influence, and a strong emphasis on natural ingredients, particularly in the salads (not often you get flower buds). I enjoy scallops very much, but rarely get to eat them so it was a treat I had them in one form or another every meal there.
Typically I would get there around 5.30 or so, getting the last light, then back into Kan itself for about 7.30, dump the car then a bit of bar hopping.
