    Tsai Eatery

...on the Klong San side of the river next to the Guan Yu Chinese temple...excellent location on the river, cool breezes, shaded riverside tables, good service and tasty relatively inexpensive offerings: highly recommended for an afternoon with a pint or two of Heineken draft and some blueberry thing SD had...we both enjoyed the phad krapow talay with strawberry cheesecake and chocolate gelato for dessert. The river breezes made for a very comfortable afternoon...

Looks good. As an aside, a question was asked in a FB group I'm a member of, namely recommendations for western style restaurants (but not bars) in the Kanchanaburi area. I gave one, and just received a message from the person:

"Based on your recommendation I tried ME, I enjoyed it so much, I have been back 3 times in 2 weeks. So I just wanted to say Thankyou. Best wishes Sue"

    Always good to get feedback.

...throwing caution to the wind during monsoon season, we stopped in for lunch again at this outdoor place: lunch by the river with 2 large Heinekens on a lazy afternoon...we had deep-fried lab moo, spicy salmon salad, battered calamari and fries and seafood green curry over seafood rice. Dessert was shared: 2 scoops of gelato and a mocha cake...very relaxing...

I see what you're both saying, but I offer moo/nua det diao into the discussion and reckon I've raised the bar even further when we're talking beer snacks.

    That jerky type one

Joe, its been air dried for a nice hot afternoon, just after it was spiced. Then you see the nam cheen jao, the Isaan hot sauce that is just killer. Fried pork is not the same at all mate.

The only thing I'd change would be the sauce, probably used sweet chilli as that isaan sauce is mostly nam pla.
Piece of piss to make that dish.

The only significant problem would be carving that carrot, if only there was fruit carving thread on here

We've seen what you do to a steak that requires nothing more than a simple brushing of olive oil and 60 seconds a side in a red hot skillet, I'd leave Thai cuisine alone to be honest.

Its not fvcking rocket science is it!

Chop up some strips of cheap gristle beef, cover in msg, chilli and salt then leave for the flies to shite on and flavour in 30oC heat all day.

Then deep fry in oil and serve up with some rancid fish sauce and chilli dip.
