    Las Vegas food trip

When all this lockdown and all this travel restriction mallarky is over, I fancy a trip to Las Vegas.
Not for the usual reasons that people visit but for the food.
I've heard there's some mighty fine eating in the City.

Anyone been and have recommendations, pics, prices etc.

I blame the TV program "Man Vs Food"

    Cheers
    Shalom

We stayed at treasure Island, and had dinner at Seņor Frogs. Dinner for the four of us $150.00, plus tip.
    Margaritas were $12

Climb aboard the TD foodie bus!

    Snubby vs Food !

I want a food trip where you can sample all American cuisine on a budget, back street diners etc

None of this pretentious up market crap.
    Proper grub for proper people.

1kilo burgers, fried chicken, pizzas, hash browns with eggs over easy etc..
Even if it's of the tourist beaten track...

^ Joe, you may be interested to know that after my duty is done here in Georgia, I will be moving to Las Vegas. I will stay with my brother, who lives there, in order to establish Nevada residency. Gotta do it for banking and tax purposes.

After that stay, I will be moving on to Thailand as a Nevada resident.

I'd be really happy if that was an invite to meet up at some point and sample the local culinary dishes!
    All the best Joe

I’ve been to Vegas a few times. There are some nice places to eat and stay at.

But Vegas and their food (unless you gamble) shouldn’t be the attraction. Do a river rafting adventure, if there’s water flowing.

Me, whatshername and my daughter did a two-day adventure a couple years ago. It is fun.

and yes, they do feed you.

^I’ll ask whatshername to look back to see if she did any reviews (with pictures) the last time she was there.

But food pictures are like (when talking about Vegas and the area)………

Nothing is really cheap in Vegas. Lived in Henderson for a few years. Outside the Casinos its the same strip mall food you find in any state. Inside Casino's like Bellagio, Venetian etc they have some top restaurants but you will pay. The open buffet type places are very nice with loads of food. I recommend you look at Casino's by name and search "Dining". NY NY has an incredible steak restaurant but you have to make reservations way in advance or used to. Not sure now with Covid.

Vegas is for the lights at night, drinking, gambling and then drunk food..

Places to see would be Hoover Dam, maybe a day on Lake Mead. They have some offroad tours into the desert.

I think the fun way to do a Vegas food trip is one week luxing it, and one week eating totally el cheapo. There are some amazing bargains there, in some fine dive bars.

Fair points, the planning stages of the visit across the pond are still in their infancy stages.
It will be a trip of a lifetime.
The reason I mentioned Las Vegas first is because of a few programs I've watched on it.
But yeah, ruling nothing out on the foodsville trip.
Always wanted to visit New Orleans, Miami, New York, Detroit etc

My brother used to regularly go to Vegas for holidays. Baaed in Vegas, but exploring around. He found it great value. Mind you, he does not drink or gamble, which might be kinda key to staying there...,.

NYC and LA are the two best cities for food. Lots of street food and cheap eats to be found, with a diversity found nowhere else on earth, and they are massive sized cities, and you will not be able to cram all that there is to do and eat into just one trip. You couldn't miss out doing just those two places on your trip, IMHO..

Some LA street Mexican street food...

    Buffets of Vegas...

I used to go to Vegas often, in the early 90s. Back then, they catered more to single gamblers and it was easy to get a room for under $20, and $10 buffets were everywhere.
Vegas is a family destination, now. Nothing is cheap since the Griswalds showed up.
