    The Patio

...located on the second floor of the Helix at Emquartier...after a morning of two-fisted shopping, we stopped into this place for lunch. The dishes
were hit and miss: I doubt we'll visit again...
    The Patio-s__17375271-jpg
    savory nachos (hit)
    The Patio-s__17375272-jpg
Flavorful calamari, but with a nearly impenetrable batter (miss)
    The Patio-s__17375273-jpg
Generous portion of (sea bass) fish and chips (hit)...
    The Patio-s__17375274-jpg
Crab capellini (delicious, but a bit dry)...(hit)
    The Patio-s__17375277-jpg
Apple crumble with custard and ice cream (hit)
    The Patio-s__17375278-jpg
Coconut sorbet with local toppings (miss)
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd

    Looks .... okay/good.

We had fish and chips for lunch yesterday and the chips were house made and battered (not in any way a pissing contest, just mentioning it).

Battered chips will be something I recreate, possibly unsuccessfully, next time I want a carb hit.

Call me old fashioned, but to this dinosaur the words 'fine dining' and 'shopping centre' just do not belong in the same sentence. The latter day 'Crazy Rich Asian' set obviously does not agree, but we all know how wonderfully elegant, discrete and tasteful they are.

Tanx for sharing TC, but that just looks like soulless Mall food to me. Should have saved money and gone to the Food court instead.

Is your beau open to suggestions? Maybe the TD glitterati could help out with a bit of a wish list....
