Tom ... looks great.
I sort of like 'fun food' and it seems to fit that category?
I tried to find your original visit but only came up with ... La Monita Bangkok
Maybe a link to your first visit ... and a partial shot of your shirt for the fashionistas on here
Nice wee spot. Was at a birthday party there a few years ago.
Tom, did you ever visit Mexico, and if so, how do you compare the Mexican Mexican food with the international versions we get around the World.
(Upon landing in China, one was quick to notice not many of our favourite Chinese dishes from the Chinese restos back home were on the menu)
...traveled from the El Salvador border to Mexico City...never once saw a quesadilla or a burrito on a local menu...La Monita offers "Tex-Mex" which does to Mexican cuisine what American restaurants did to Italian cuisine...no seafood, tamales or interesting sauces at La Monita, but I understand the owner had a taco truck somewhere in the US and knows what most paying customers want...
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd
was in next door (billy's smokehouse on saturday)
ended up oredering from La Monita
they get the basics like the pico de gallo very right
the enchildas, my dughter's quesedillia and i forget what the wife ordered were solid but unmemorable
its very good for Bangkok and wish i;d been there fro the lunch menu which looked better to be honest
we won it at wemberlee
we on it in gay paree...
Last time I had Mex food was in a pub in Boulder Colorado.
Not a big fan!
