    ^Classic looking serving set

I never could get the hang of dunking them rich teas. Guaranteed to break off like a calving iceberg.

    Nice cup of tea sir?

Noticed me glass jar of leaves was running low so just ordered another 500g bag.

Start with 4 teaspoons with 1 liter of mineral water in the big teapot, add some Chinese tea/herbs and jasmine. 2 big cups every morning.

Then add 3 teaspoons and top up with water the next morning. Repeat x 5 mornings.

Empty it out and start the process again once a week.

    Tiz good stuff.

Bonnie flame-haired Lassie drapped in tae dine wie a bevvy of brews in tow.

    A nice cup of tea-20240827_205021c2-jpg

This 1st one was Turmeric and Grapefruit. I sullied the herbal purity by sweetening mine with chemical aspartame.

The other ones she brought were also new to me. Peppermint and licorice and some organic berry brew.

    A nice cup of tea-20240828_002908-jpg

She brought chocolate as a post-pizza digestiv, so I paired mine with the licorice tea. A rare treat when I have phased carbs out a bit in favour protein bars for snacks. My 3 aspartames are dissolving into the bag for extra sweetness.

    It's Persian tea time

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_234958-jpg

This stuff was proper spicy tasty and served in a glass as is the custom. I used a whole one of those sugar sticks in mine.

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_202711-jpg

Her white dates were finished but she had a plate of black dates this time to sweeten my tooth.

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_202807-jpg

And to complete the Persian immersion tea ceremony a box of Gaz, which is a kind of Persian nougat made from egg yolk with pistachio nuts in the middle.

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_203314-jpg

They are packed in flour for shipping and serving.

    Gaz (candy) - Wikipedia

She still had not got her curtains hung so I was careful to turn the lights out this time to save my modesty (and hers)

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_223138-jpg

She knocked out a nosh up for the knockout second meal.

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_230529-jpg

It has the roasted rice crust (Tahdig) again

    Scorched rice - Wikipedia

But this time it is like a roasted rice pie filled with lamb and saffron called Tahchin

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_230739-jpg

    Tahchin - Wikipedia

For a side she had Gheymeh which is a Caspian dish (she being from the shores of the Caspian in Iran's north)

    A nice cup of tea-20241026_230948-jpg

It is basically meat (lamb in this case) served with beans in a tomato sauce with slices of fried potato, that look suspiciously like chips - basically a kind of Persian Armstrong Friday dinner.

    Gheimeh - Wikipedia

For a digestiv we had a kind of Persian milk shake made with bananas and saffron.

    A nice cup of tea-20241027_020227-jpg

Her middle toe is almost as long as mine.

    A nice cup of tea-20241027_031918-jpg

The stuff on the window ledge is black pepper which she says protects her bed from nocturnal encroachment from her plague of geckos

What a wonderful selection , do you ever tire of dates?
I hitched up eventually with MsCoolanhotta 4 seasons in one day but at least I can remember her name and proclivities must be penile dementia.

Depsite what malmomilf says the oil of Bergamot in a good Earl gray is a unque pleasure lost on smokers, tokers and those used to inhaling whirling choppers.

There are a variety of teas in my cupboards from round teh world but my go to is Lapsang, Gunpowder ok and some Oolong.

Glad to see the International diaspora forego PG for Looper Tips

Had a spot of Earl Grey myself yesterday afternoon, as it happens, without the Persian company unfortunately.

Good chow there. She knows the way to a man's heart.

Armo posted his wrapped xmas gift already, then 20 minutes later these arrive via Laza.

    For the fam back home.

    1. No need for the teabag. Boil them up and use a sieve.

    2. They didn't sound too impressed last year when they got the same, and I got a few Mmmmms on the painful annual video call when they were mentioned... I suspect they're all still sitting, dusty, on back shelves somewhere, to be honest.

Still, they're cheap, easy to mail, and healthy. It's the thought that counts.

The Persian tea ceremony came to the forest on Sunday arvo when Persian tea lady brought belated birthday gifts of my very own tea pot with candle warmer

    A nice cup of tea-20241116_200958-jpg

    Accompanied by Persian walnut cookies

    A nice cup of tea-20241116_201022-jpg

White dates in a jar and mysterious white kendal-mint cake style sweets in a jar

    A nice cup of tea-20241116_201026-jpg

I was itching to fire up my tea set and we started with the Persian bergamot she brought

    A nice cup of tea-20241116_203028-jpg

I even got a belated birthday cake - carrot cake - one of my faves

    A nice cup of tea-20241116_203140-jpg

The last super-moon of 2024 peeked over the horizon as the embers settled down to BBQ level

    A nice cup of tea-20241116_213607-jpg

The fancy marinade is all very well but to be honest I adore just basic snags smoky-grilled over wood on bread with tomato sauce and mustard.

    A nice cup of tea-20241116_222547-jpg

The good lady chose to garnish hers with mayonnaise and black pepper just to keep things culturally exotic and strange and we served them on Persian Barbari bread that she had brought to make it a cultural fusion BBQ.

^I was so enamoured of my own bogan sauce and mustard smoky snags that I forgot to even ask to taste the exotic mayo and pepper option she had constructed but I will make a mental note to try it next time, out of cultural curiosity.

Nice to catch up on your 'activities' Looper, that spread with tea looked amazing. What is that Arabic type cake called that your lady friend made you at her place? Looked delicious, I have had similar in a Moroccan restaurant.
