    KFC in Thailand

Anyone got some reviews of their favourite finger licking restaurant in Thailand?

We get it home delivered occasionally, it's normally the Missus's idea (honest injun). Tastes great when you haven't had it for a few months, but I think it's a bit more oily than the KFC in Western countries. Always the same order, original chicken with mash/gravy and coleslaw, online ordering is easy and delivery time a rapid 10-15 minutes. Old hands will remember when they discontinued the coleslaw and replaced it with something that was fucking horrible - was it tuna salad? - but due to the grace of God they brought it back

Mate was managing a KFC some years back, said he would eat there only if the alternative was death by starvation.

Had one (original style KFC chicken and a "Zinger Burger") last week. First time in probably over a year. The burger was awful, but the chicken tasted good even though it was greasy as hell.
Will probably eat one again next year.

Yup, no lack of lubricant, never a "dry meat" complaint. My only observation is the chicken are low grade and smaller than the US counterparts. Of course in the US they're competing with Purdue's line of fowl. And the Purdue folk know how to raise chickens.

I was also going to say that, but compared to NZ. Scrawny little pieces.
I had a GF in Utharadit about 12 years ago whose parents had an egg farm. Every year or two they'd sell off all the layers and replace them with fresh ones. She told me the old ones go to KFC, and I can believe it.

If you find yourself in Korea then Mom's Touch is a decent alternative.

Had this yesterday lunchtime for 6,000 won/159 Thai baht.

The best by far. Indulged often in these delights in the 60s in Vietnam.

^^ Who goes to KFC for poorly mass produced Thai-fusion? KFC is for deep fried pressure cooked chicken and the sides.

Coincidentally, 5 minutes ago wifey spoke up... she just got a KFC ad on her FB feed. KFC Thailand is now doing deep fried chicken skin . I'm into that. Imagine KFC chicken skin with it's 11 herbs and spices, deep fried, with KFC gravy
    Mmmmmmm.

Kids love the spicy KFC chicken up here. I don't mind it either...much better than the German version. I do a lemon chilli roast chicken, which the kids also scream kfc, so I guess I'm doing something wrong...

I've gotten food poison twice while I've lived in the land of smiles....

Once eating noodles for breakfast, I figured the chicken carcasses hadn't been brought up to a boil yet to kill the bacteria.

The second time was eating at the KFC at Fashion Island. I had the chicken wrap thingy and that evening and throughout the next morning I went the poopy thingy.

In all seriousness, I'll never eat chicken from KFC again. Occasionally I'll get a fish burger from there, but that's about it.

Isn't it strange? Thai food, Thai restaurants have been spread around the world, there is hardly a city where such food cannot be found.

On the other hand, in every dept store in Thailand you hardly find a Thai food with a decent sitting - beside the food stalls somewhere downwards in the corner and the S&P booth where the food is "cooked" by microwave. The feshie upper floors are full of US, JP, KR, food ("cooked" by microwave)...

I like this new place, Texas Chicken, with a lot of outlets on Hwy 1 going north out of Bangkok. And they have biscuits, not brittle cookies, but southern US biscuits.
